Greetings!

There are lots of upcoming community arts events.

We send out several e-newsletters each month. You've received this as you're on our Environmental Arts e-list. So let's start there! Our next monthly Eco-Art Salon on Thursday, January 20 at Chapel Arts.. These small group gatherings focus on how CACV can support and promote environmental arts and artists.

Here are a few other fun events. I'll be going to the mask workshop on Monday. Maybe I'll see you there!

Rabbit Mask workshops are open to the public Monday - Thursday afternoons January 17-20.
Workshops are facilitated by lead artist Jason Bouchard.

Then bring your mask (whether made at home or at our workshops) onFebruary 6 to Victory Square for a parade to Chinatown.

Hope to see you soon - or online at our online community centre! Drop in and say "hello", post your events or join a dialogue.

Sincerely,

Mary Bennett,
Administrator, CACV

 Strathcona Green Zone Connects

Everday, businesses throw away valuable materials like fabric, wood, and paper.

These materials should be reused, but businesses don't have time to find people who need them.

That's where you come in.

If you're an artist (or business) who uses materials like these, there is a steady and free source of supply waiting for you in Strathcona.

Networking

The Strathcona Business Improvement Association is working to connect businesses that have excess materials with artists (or other businesses) who need those materials. Interested? Join us on Jan. 20 5-7pm

Community Arts Council of Vancouver
creates community through the arts.

Our mission: CACV is the voice for the community arts in Vancouver. We explore critical social issues through creative processes. CACV fosters and supports programs, practices and initiatives that develop common understanding through shared experiences.

From its founding in 1946 as the first community arts council in North America to today, CACV has been influential in the arts and culture scene in Vancouver. 2010 program priorities are to support community arts programming and infrastructure in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver; provide leadership in community arts in the City as a whole; and be a leader in the developing field of environmental art.
