Spring is a busy time of year at the Rhode Island SPCA. We have some great events coming up in the next few weeks including our 10th Annual Horse Ride Fundraiser. Attending RISPCA events is a fun way to support the homeless animals in our care - we hope to see you there.
The RISPCA has made a few changes to our operating hours in an effort to make it easier for you to adopt. The shelter is now open late on Thursday nights from 11:00am to 7:30pm. We invite you to stop in to see our adoptable pets.

Celebration of Home Wine Making: Dinner Dance & Wine Tasting | April 28th
Join the RISPCA for an excellent dinner and evening of wine tasting, dancing, and great music from Steve Anthony and Persuasion at the West Valley Inn. Tickets are $40 each and include dinner and wine tasting. Tickets must be purchased in advance by April 18th.

Paws to Consider: An RISPCA Education Program for Current & Future Dog Owners
April 29, 2012
The Rhode Island SPCA will be presenting a new, free family education program designed to help current and future dog owners improve life with their dog and to reduce the rate of dogs surrendered to shelters due to avoidable or treatable issues. Learn how to select the right dog for your family, discover simple tools to aid in day-to-day life with your dog, find out what dog related services are available in your community and speak with professionals from the RISPCA!
This program will run on the last Sunday of every month throughout 2012 at the Rhode Island SPCA. The program will be offered in 2 parts: Part 1 will run from 1-1:45pm and will address selecting a dog. Part 2 will run 2-3pm and will discuss and present tools and resources to help with your dog. Bing, last month's featured pet, was adopted on March 16th! After many months at the shelter, and being returned once, Bing was adopted by a dedicated RISPCA volunteer dog walker!
Bing and his new owner make quite a pair - we wish them many happy years together!
