Greetings!
So far in 2010, we have found forever homes for 952 animals that came to our door looking for a second chance and have helped many others stay with their owners through the Marvin Fund.
As the year draws to a close, we are proud of all we have accomplished and know we could not have done it without your support.
However, there is still much work to be done. With your help, 2011 will be another banner year for the Rhode Island SPCA.
If an end of the year holiday donation is in your plans, I ask that you consider the Rhode Island SPCA. The animals appreciate gifts of all sizes.
On behalf of the Rhode Island SPCA, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a safe, peaceful, and healthy New Year. On behalf of the animals currently in our care, animals that have no voice but ours, I thank you for any help you are able to send their way. Thank you for your continued commitment and support in helping us "speak for those who cannot speak for themselves."
Sincerely,
Jim McGee

Holiday Gift Idea for Animal Lovers
Looking for the perfect holiday gift? Consider sponsoring an animal at the Rhode Island SPCA in honor of a friend or other loved one. The honoree will receive a letter from the Rhode Island SPCA notifying them of your gift (or we can give you the letter to present to them in person), a sign will be hung on one of our cages or kennels recognizing the sponsorship, and the sponsorship will be listed on our website. For more information about sponsoring a pet, visit our pet sponsor page or contact Jim McGee at jmcgee@rispca.com or (401) 438-8150.

November's "Happy Tail"
Gracie
Gracie is a sweet, lovable 10 year old beagle. She came to the RISPCA because her owner was ill and no longer able to care for her. Gracie spent two months at the shelter before finally being adopted. As a senior pet, she was passed over for younger dogs again and again.
Gracie was last month's featured pet, made appearances on ABC6's "Pick of the Litter" and Lite Rock 105's "Pet of the Month, and could be seen in Rhode Island Mag and The Bay's Pet Page. On November 20th, Gracie was finally welcomed into her loving new home. |

About the Rhode Island SPCA
The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) is the 3rd oldest humane organization in the United States; at 140 years old we are the only non-profit animal rescue organization in the state of RI that is legally able to investigate and prosecute animal cruelty cases. Along with operating a full shelter that is home to over 100 cats, dogs and other domestic animals each day, we offer medical attention for the pets of many impoverished, disabled and elderly individuals who otherwise could not afford to care for them. The RISPCA also provides Humane Education programs for local schools, youth and adult groups free of charge. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that receives no local, state or federal funding, and is not associated with the ASPCA or its donations, the RISPCA relies solely on community support from friends and businesses. |

Help us do even better this month. Forward this email to friends and family and encourage them to check out our adoptable pets! |
Featured Adoptable Pet
Lacey is a quiet, sweet 12 year old Cocker Spaniel who was brought to the RISPCA because her owner could not afford to take care of her anymore. She came to the RISPCA with her "brother" Jake, a 9 year old Cocker Spaniel who was adopted 2 weeks ago. Now it is Lacey's turn! This senior Cocker Spaniel is looking for a quiet, loving home to live out her golden years. If you are interested in adopting Lacey, contact the RISPCA today! |
