Greetings!
We hope you are enjoying the beautiful summer weather and managing to keep cool with your animal friends during this heat wave.
Here is one of many "happy tails" from last month:
Zoey and Finnegan arrived at the Rhode Island SPCA on May 18th. Their owner, who is in the military, was being transferred overseas and could not bring these two beautiful German Shepherd mixes with him. Finnegan took to his new environment well, cheerfully greeting staff, volunteers, and visitors who passed his kennel each day. Zoey was more reserved and had a hard time adjusting to life at the shelter. She was adopted at the beginning of June into a great new family. Unfortunately, she was returned a short time later because she did not get along with her new feline roommates. Shortly after returning to the RISPCA, Zoey was adopted by another great family who were also able to welcome Finnegan into their home!
How you can help:
Your support makes it possible for animals like Zoey and Finnegan who find themselves at the Rhode Island SPCA to get the second chance they deserve. The Marvelous Marvin Memorial Walk is just around the corner. Not only does it promise to be a great day, it is also the perfect opportunity to raise money for the homeless animals in our care. This year, we have eliminated the registration fee, allowing everyone who would like to participate in the walk to do so. This means we need your help to meet our fundraising goal. Please register for the walk using our secure registration and fundraising site ( www.firstgiving.com/rispca) or by returning a registration form to the RISPCA and start collecting pledges for the animals today.
Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Jim McGee

Registration for the RISPCA's annual CritterKind Summer Camp is now open! Camp will run in three, week-long sessions, sorted by camper age, and space is still available in each group. This year's theme is "Do It Yourself Pets." During each session, campers will learn a myriad of ways they can enrich the lives of animals around them, safely and inexpensively.

The Rhode Island SPCA will have a table set up at this Saturday's Farmers Market in Barrington from 9:00 - 12:00. About the Rhode Island SPCA
The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) is the 3rd oldest humane organization in the United States; at 140 years old we are the only non-profit animal rescue organization in the state of RI that is legally able to investigate and prosecute animal cruelty cases. Along with operating a full shelter that is home to over 100 cats, dogs and other domestic animals each day, we offer medical attention for the pets of many impoverished, disabled and elderly individuals who otherwise could not afford to care for them. The RISPCA also provides Humane Education programs for local schools, youth and adult groups free of charge. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that receives no local, state or federal funding, and is not associated with the ASPCA or its donations, the RISPCA relies solely on community support from friends and businesses. |
We would like to thank our current Marvelous Marvin Memorial Walk sponsors:

Featured Adoptable Pet Dalilah is an 8 year old, spayed female. She was brought to the RISPCA because she did not get along with her owner's new cat. Although Dalilah does not get along with other cats, she loves people and may get along with other types of animals. She is very playful and sweet and quickly became a staff favorite at the shelter. |
June Adoptions
We are happy to announce that we found forever homes for 73 of our adoptable animal friends last month! We wish the adopted pets and their new owners many happy years together!
Help us do even better this month. Forward this email to friends and family and encourage them to check out our adoptable pets! |
