Greetings!
Finding the free time and quiet mental space to write a ministry update is quite a challenge these days! Even as we are putting together this update to you today, there is a constant cacophony of noise ringing throughout the house. We have five children currently living in our children's home, ages 13 months to 14 years, and we are homeschooling the three oldest as well as caring for the two youngest simultaneously. It's busy, but it's a blessing! At any given time, there is a variety of age groups and number of children, often changing, but we are thankful for the God-given opportunity to impact their lives for the time that they are under our influence and care. We see such deep-seated pains in these kids as they come into our home as a result of neglect, abuse and abandonment, but it is so encouraging to see them begin to flourish and embrace the love of God as we teach them that He will never abandon them. Each day is a challenge in working through many relational, emotional and even education dysfunctions, but we praise God for the wisdom and strength He gives to us as we seek Him daily for guidance in our interactions with each one of them. We are blessed as we are reminded of the constancy of God's love and faithfulness for us, and we are so grateful for His new mercies every morning as we try to live out His love in a tangible way for these kids.
We've passed the first anniversary of our move to Arizona, and it really felt like a milestone of sorts, just having survived the first year. For a multitude of reasons, it was definitely the toughest year we've ever had in ministry as well as personally. God taught us so many things through the incredibly hard times, but more than anything, we learned more deeply of His goodness, His power, His faithfulness, His presence, and His love in spite of any circumstances that may arise.
In September, we had to make the very difficult decision to sell the mobile ministry center (RV) that had been donated to Kingdom Flight just to be able to survive financially - for rent, for food, to pay utilities, etc. We're grateful that God brought along the right buyer at the right time, and no one missed any meals or went without. There were many times we had to pray and God gave us daily bread in a very literal way, just on the day we needed it, but He was faithful to do so. Our faith is so encouraged as we spend time in God's Word and read of other brothers and sisters in Christ who have also tested God's Word in their own lives and found Him to be faithful.
Because of the resultant loss of an RV to take to the reservation, our ministry potential to the Native American communities is limited right now, and we are proceeding as God opens up doors, in His timing. Over the summer, we had opportunity to have several kids out to the ranch at a time, and we continue to keep them in our hearts and in our prayers. In the meantime, the children's home is fully functioning and demanding much time and attention. We do have many ongoing needs for both the home and our newly-established homeschool for the children's home. We have been donated the use of a fifth-wheel trailer that we have converted into a school, but we are in need of two or three laptop computers for the children to be able to use for their curriculum. We also have ongoing curriculum needs as we expand the grades of our school, and there is a constant need for new clothing and toys for children of all ages as we receive children who have been taken from their homes in a short span of time and often with not more than the clothes on their backs. At this point, we have both girls and boys in the home. Because of privacy issues with the children, we will not be posting specific needs for specific children in a public newsletter, but please contact us privately for details, and we will be glad to share more specific information.
We are so incredibly thankful for the friends that God has raised up to support this ministry on a monthly basis, and we are praying that God will impress upon the hearts of others to do the same as He leads you. There is tremendous ongoing expense to feed, clothe, teach and care for these children, and we trust that God will supply it, but we also know He uses people to accomplish that task. We truly appreciate your prayers and words of encouragement, and we ask you to continue to stand with us as we seek to serve the "least of these" in Jesus' name. In Him, Brad & Lesli Bieganski www.kingdomflight.org
