Greetings!
The adventure of following God onto the reservation continues...
As we have visited churches in Cibecue, it has been both an encouragement and a concern. While we have met wonderful people who love God and desire to serve Him, we've seen an average of about 25 people attending these churches. One Sunday morning, we went by the community center for a softball tournament, and there were over 200 people of all ages just hanging out on the premises. We are encouraged that there are solid Biblical churches for those who choose to attend them, but we were reminded that Jesus went to where people were, rather than requiring them to come to church. In Cibecue, this community center is really the hub of town, and the various sports programs they are offering are drawing in entire families, parents, grandparents and children, not just the participants in the sports teams themselves. We are very thankful for a recently donated RV that God is allowing us to use as a mobile ministry base, and we are able to drive into the parking lot of this community center and "set up shop," so to speak. We've been serving up hot dogs and chips to anyone that shows up, letting the kids hang out with us in the motor home, and establishing relationships by serving as the hands and feet of Jesus out among these people. We hope in the coming days to deepen these relationships as we share with them about Jesus and the hope He can bring to their lives.
In the midst of all these blessings, there have also been days of tremendous stress. Several weeks ago, we were given a horse for the ranch on which we are living, and in the process of "getting to know" the horse, Brad was thrown from the horse and had to be airlifted to a hospital in Phoenix for observation and care. His souvenirs from the experience are a broken arm, a pelvis fracture, and a fracture in the right L5 transverse process. He has been able to come home since that time, but is limited in his mobility. He was unable to walk at all immediately following the injury and was confined to a wheelchair, but each day he is slowly improving. We praise God that he is able to take several steps at a time now with a walker. Despite a lot of pain and frustration at his temporary physical limitations, Brad insisted that we go down to Cibecue in the RV last weekend, and the kids were glad to see us when we showed up and we're planning on continuing our weekly visits.
We truly appreciate your prayers for rapid healing, for provision for medical bills and for our ministry to the children of Cibecue. We know that God is faithful, He is still sovereign, and we look forward to all the ministry opportunities God provides in the coming days.
In Him,
Brad & Lesli Bieganski "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how
can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can
they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach
unless they are sent?" Romans 10:14-15
