Greetings!
Tomorrow we'll be heading to one of the most dangerous cities on the planet, and we need your prayers! The Kingdom Flight Una Esperanza children's shelter is located just on the outskirts of Juarez, Mexico in a community known simply as Kilometer 33. Juarez has become the focal point of a war between rivaling drug cartels and the Mexican government. In 2008, over 6000 people were brutally murdered throughout Mexico, and over 1800 of these killings took place in Juarez. The Mexican government is in the process of deploying thousands of military personnel and federal police throughout Juarez over the next few weeks in an attempt to bring order to the chaos. There's no way to sugarcoat the current situation in Mexico, it's ugly and very dangerous! Many experts also believe that it may be several years before the situation improves.
Most US ministries have added Mexico to the "DO NOT TRAVEL" list normally reserved for countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, etc. We have often contemplated the wisdom of continuing right now ourselves. After much prayerful consideration, we do believe that going is the right thing for us to do because these people still need Jesus, and now more than ever.
We will be in Juarez March 16-21 and would ask that you please keep us in your prayers as we are on the front lines. Please pray for safety for us and the team that will be joining us this coming week, for wisdom and discernment, and that God would be glorified through this trip.
In Him,
Brad & Lesli Bieganski "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how
can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can
they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach
unless they are sent?" Romans 10:14-15
