Stand Up For Women's Health
Override the Veto!

Contact your state legislators and urge them to
override Governor Christie's veto of S-2139
!
Investing in women's health is not only good policy, it helps save the state money!

On Friday, Governor Christie vetoed S-2139, a bill that would have restored 7.5 million dollars to family planning services. Family planning saves the state millions of dollars and brings in federal dollars. An investment of $1 million by the state would have brought in $9 million in federal money. Additionally, each public dollar spent on family planning services saves an estimated $4 that would otherwise be spent in Medicaid-related costs.

New Jersey's family planning agencies provide reproductive and other health care services to over 136,000 women and men. Please stand with these people and the League of Women Voters of New Jersey by taking action today to urge your legislators to vote to override the Governor's veto of S-2139.  Thank you!
