Ft. Myers, FL - Matt Caldwell, candidate for District 73 of the Florida House of Representatives, is proud to share that his hometown paper, the Fort Myers News-Press (Editorial) is adding their name to the list of endorsements of Caldwell for State House.
Said the News-Press, "Four Republicans seek their party's nomination for the open seat for Florida House of Representatives, District 73. ... Incumbent Nick Thompson, a two-term Republican, chose not to seek re-election... His successor should be someone knowledgeable about local politics, engaged in the community and willing to listen to the entire constituency. The News-Press Editorial Board believes Republicans should choose Matt Caldwell in the Aug. 24 GOP primary election."
Said Caldwell, "I can honestly say that as someone who has grown up reading this paper, graduating from reading the comics to the opinion page, I am proud to have the support of our hometown newspaper."
This adds to the growing list of public figures willing to place their name on Matt's campaign, including former Florida House Speaker & current US Senate candidate Marco Rubio. See who else is supporting Matt at the campaign website.
