As a non-profit organization, Silent Observer can only be as effective as our resources allow. We are a community funded organization meaning that no larger bureaucracy pays our bills so we must raise what we need to operate each and every year.  Donations come from concerned community members wanting to ensure the continuation of the Silent Observer Program.  They understand that they are investing in the safety and security of their neighborhood, businesses and schools.

About Us

Silent Observer has a rich history of providing community members the ability to report important information about crime anonymously to police.  The result has been the removal of thousands of dangerous criminals from our streets and helping victims of crime find the justice they deserve.  In fact in 2010, ninety-six criminals that committed crimes like armed robbery, homicide, assault, burglary and criminal sexual assault were arrested thanks to Silent Observer's tipsters.  Their tips helped police close 144 crimes and $446,831 in cash, drugs and property were recovered as a result of their efforts.  One case that hit very close to home was the arrest of a serial arsonist who plagued a Southeast neighborhood for months by setting 9 fires that caused over $700,000 in damage.  A Silent Observer tipster led police to this suspect so residents can now sleep a bit easier because of his arrest.
