That's been the focus of the COATS blog this month, and we're eager to help you learn more about how to get the most out of social media.

What's New in COATS' New Versions
For COATSsql, the latest version is 4.3.2 (but 4.3.1 is fine as long as you're not doing business in California). New features and options:
  • Texting via individual employee, group of employees at one client or group of employees at one job
  • Filterable mass email for employees
  • Emailing resume via employee file
  • Handling W2s online
  • Running bank balance in bank window
  • AR history by date range
  • Invoice dates included on collection letters
  • Keeping LPM status when deleting employees on job order
  • PO# adding to right click in payroll data entry
  • Employer contribution of healthcare compliance

For COATS Standard, the latest version is 9.0.4. New features and options are: 

  • Employee Master Record now has a check box for E-Verify
  • Online W2 box added for online W2 management via Global Cash Card
  • HIRE ACT Retention Credit report has been added
  • All W2, year-end and state tax updates have been added

Coming Soon: A New COATS Website
We're going to unveil a new look for the COATS website next week. Even the Customers Only portion of the site is getting a makeover!

Don't worry; the only thing that's changing is the look. All of your logins, all of the white papers, all of the downloadable files will still be there. And if the redesign works the way we planned it to, you'll be able to access everything faster and easier than before.

While some publications have published articles pondering whether social media is a threat to the staffing industry, a better way to look at it would be to view social media as the powerful tool it is and understand how it can strengthen your recruiting and sourcing efforts.

 


Social Media for Staffing Companies: Avoid the Mullet
Social media is not a fad or something used only by kids and people who want the world to know about their lunch; it's a proven platform for marketing. But while most companies have one audience for their marketing, staffing companies have two: candidates and clients. Trying to speak to both audiences at once using one channel results in the communications equivalent of a mullet.


Using Social Media to Follow Up with Candidates
Social media is a powerful way to interact with large audiences like potential candidates or client prospects. But it can also be a great way to communicate directly with individuals, and that can help you follow up with highly desirable job candidates.


Mobile Media, Staffing and Recruiting
Social media was the next big thing in communication three years ago; now, that title belongs to mobile media. More and more, people-especially teens and young adults-are accessing the internet on mobile devices.

Not only that, they're using those devices to consume entertainment (watching TV on their phone, for instance), and texting is still huge.
