Teacher Tip:

Remove knots from shoelaces

 shoe laces

Save time and your fingernails by using a jaw-type staple remover to get stubborn knots out. It can

take forever to get those knots out of the shoelaces without one!

Fulgham

"Don't worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you."

All I Really Need  to Know I Learned in Kindergarten

Storyteller Robert Fulghum's short essay reflects the everyday, simple truths that are the foundations of our lives. Most everyone can relate to the basic instructions and lessons.

How we live as adults is based on what we each learn in the beginning of our lives. And as early education teachers, you are vital in shaping our youth. That includes providing guidance and encouragment to each one of your students. Year after year, Kindergarten teachers make a difference

"You may never have proof of your importance but you are more important than you think. There are always those who couldn't do without you. The rub is that you don't always know who."  - Robert Fulghum

Gay Evans' love for ESGI leads to successful sharing in District

In a Kindergarten classroom for 22 years, Gay Evans teaches at Pinetree Community School in Canyon County, California. She has been using ESGI for almost a year now.

"I love so many things about ESGI!"

Gay estimates that ESGI saves her up to an hour per student. She likes that ESGI provides immediate feedback so it's easy to create small groups and provide parent letters based on the information. "ESGI is so user-friendly. You don't have to be "techy" to get the most out of it", stated Gay.

Gay shared ESGI with her administrator and the District adopted it so now other teachers are successfully using ESGI in their classrooms.

Gay conducted a hands-on training session during a scheduled In-Service with the other Kindergarten teachers in her district. In a school computer lab, Gay delivered a step by step presentation and assisted other teachers in the initial set up of their ESGI accounts. Gay said, "All of these teachers were ready to roll when they exited the lab. They had their logins and a good foundation of understanding the benefits of ESGI".
