Greetings!
Hello Pawfessionals!
We will be sending them out monthly to keep you up-to-date on Pawfessionals highlights, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, education and more. We'd love to hear back from you, so please send us your ideas on what you'd like to see and do as a part of our organization through Facebook.
We'd like to take this opportunity to introduce Milo, our beloved mascot. This little cutie was adopted in the fall of 2008 by our board president, Alayna Oram, and is proof of what a loving home can do! Stay tuned for upcoming e-games featuring Milo!
We hope you enjoy our inaugural e-newsletter!
Sincerely,
The Pawfessionals Board |

Recent highlights: Margaritas for Mutts
Chilly beach breezes couldn't keep members and friends from our second social event, December's Margaritas for Mutts Holiday Party! More than 80 people enjoyed tempting tacos and tunes by Almost Famous, and participated in a tart showdown between dog and cat lovers. Partygoers ordered "Salty Dog" or "Meowgarita" signature drinks to vote for who really rules and who just drools.
We're happy to announce the dogs won it-this time-2:1.
In the midst of the frolicking good time, we had eight new members join The Pawfessionals. And thanks to our returning members, the first annual Pawfessional Angel Tree was a superb success with forty member sponsors turning in holiday wish list donations for homeless pets.
Special thanks also go out to Jensen Hande for donating a PhoDOGraphy studio photo shoot as the prize for our guessing game and to our events committee for arranging a great time for a great cause!

Board Spotlight
If you're shopping or dining in Avondale, take a moment to say hello to Jane Canandy and Chester, her doggie!
Education/Volunteer chair
Clover Boutique, Shoppes of Avondale
Thank you Jane for your continued support of JHS and all the furry faces in our care! We really appreciate all of your hard work and dedication.
About Jane
Jane Canady is a true Floridian. She was born and raised in Jacksonville and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clothing, Textiles and Merchandising. After graduation, she accepted an assistant buying position with Stein Mart here in Jacksonville. Jane moved on to manage and buy for a local upscale women's boutique. Jane quickly saw the need for great clothes and new trends and wanted to bring a new sense of fashion to Jacksonville, so she decided to open Clover in 2007, located in the historic Shoppes of Avondale. Besides working in her boutique, Jane is also a board member for the Avondale Merchants Association. She is currently a board member for the newly launched young professionals group for JHS as the education/volunteer chair. |
