Greetings!
Sharpen your pencils and get your backpacks ready because fall will be upon us before we know it. Back-to-school is one of those times we can start fresh, with a clean slate that beckons us to begin again. With that in mind, WINGS is beginning new projects as well. Our secondary survivors group (family, friends, relatives of survivors) is gearing up for a second round and we're starting a program for Spanish-speaking survivors of childhood sexual abuse. We also have a new website under development that we're excited to reveal by the end of 2009. If you want to get involved, there are plenty of ways. Let us know what's on your mind or your ideas for working with the issue of childhood sexual abuse. We're just a phone call or an email away.
Happy leaf raking and pumpkin picking -
Anne Guarnera, LPC Executive Director WINGS Foundation, Inc.

Survivors' Loved Ones Need Support Too
|
Are you the family member, spouse, partner, or close friend of a survivor? Could you benefit from your own support system while trying to help the survivor in your life? Do you want to understand what survivors go through during healing? WINGS started the Loved Ones Group to fill these needs. This group is appropriate for anyone who is joining a survivor on their healing journey.
Part education and part support, the group will meet for 8 weeks on Tuesday evenings beginning in September to assist those who are living with or helping a survivor through the sometimes rocky journey that is healing. The fee for this group is on a sliding scale based on household income and full and partial scholarships are offered.
For more information or to register, please contact WINGS at 303-238-8660 or wings@wingsfound.org.

Search the Internet, help WINGS!
|
Did you know WINGS can earn a donation every time
you search the Internet or purchase something online?
GoodSearch.com is a Yahoo-powered search engine
that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to
the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search
engine.
GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which
donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause!
Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay,
Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every
time you place an order, you'll be supporting WINGS.
Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter WINGS Foundation (Lakewood, CO) as the charity you want to support. And, be sure to spread
the word!
