Dear Friend of WINGS,
Happy Holidays! It's a challenging time of year for many of us, whether we're struggling with the troubling economy, the stress and emotions of the holidays, or with physical and mental health consequences of childhood sexual abuse.
This year at WINGS we are counting our blessings for what we do have. Because of people like you we've been able to offer 17 support groups to over 300 individual survivors this year. We've received over 2,000 requests for information and services and have provided two workshops to survivors and the community.
Whether you're a volunteer, a group member, a financial contributor or a survivor who has contacted us, thank you. We could not exist without each and every individual and organization that contributes to WINGS and utilizes our services. We wish you the very best this season and may the new year be one of success and happiness for you.
Warmly,
Anne Guarnera, LPC Executive Director

Volunteer of the Month
John Cupich has been a volunteer with WINGS for a year and a half and has contributed over 200 volunteer hours to WINGS in 2008! John is a therapist specializing in drug/alcohol issues as well as grief and loss and he has facilitated both the Colorado Springs Men's Group as well as the South Denver Men's Group.
John is from Omaha, Nebraska and has been married for 24 years to his wife Jackie. John and Jackie are recent empty-nesters and have two children, Jennifer who is 20 and Justin who is 18.
John finds that facilitating survivors' groups is very gratifying and said, "I enjoy hearing people's stories and how they connect to others through those stories to share pain and hope."
Thank you John for your time at WINGS and for all you've done for your group members and WINGS. We appreciate you!

What a Difference!

Before After
Check out our re-decorated support group room! Thanks to funds that we received from several local foundations we were able to paint the room, buy comfortable furniture and shelving for our library, and display artwork that is appealing to survivors of all cultures, genders and stages of healing. This room is used many hours each week for both men's and women's support groups, volunteer meetings and staff activities.
