United Way of Hall County
Live United - United Way

  August 2010

Greetings!

United Way is very grateful to the companies and organizations that are our corporate sponsors. They help us live our mission of uniting people, organizations, and resources to improve lives in Hall County. Each year, their generous gifts help us host special events such as the campaign kick-off and celebration as well as provide funding for all our marketing efforts.  That means that more donor dollars are available to help us continue to improve lives in Hall County.

An example of one such sponsor is Fieldale Farms Corporation, a member of our GIVE. ADVOCATE. VOUNTEER  level of Corporate Sponsorship. Fieldale Farms is a family business.  Still owned by its founders, it has grown to become one of the largest independent poultry producers in the world.  Fieldale Farms encourages their employees to be advocates for improving lives by conducting an employee campaign that is annually one of the top five for United Way.  They hosted a luncheon and gave tours to our Young Leaders Society this past month.  Employees had a dock sale that was so successful that another dock sale is on the calendar for October- and is open to the public! Just recently, we needed a way to access our truck bed storage unit for our School Tool supplies. Fieldale Farms literally stepped up and provided us the steps needed to enter the truck so volunteers could sort school tools for Gainesville and Hall   students. Thank you Fieldale for being such a great partner.

It doesn't stop with Fieldale Farms. Please thank and support our 2010-11 Corporate Sponsors:

The "chain gang" stuffed the bus with school supplies.
Another Successful Year!
School Tools for Cool Kids
In a partnership with Publix Super Markets, Hall County Library System, and United Way of Hall County, we certainly STUFFED the BUS. The drive  yielded an estimated $15,000 in school supplies for Gainesville and Hall County School social workers to distribute to students so they have the tools required to enter school ready to learn.

Publix
256 school supply bags to date, over $2030 in value.

Cargill Cares Foundation stepped in with a $2000 donation and volunteers.

Northeast Georgia Medical Center donated 150 backpacks.

Hall County Library served as a drop-off location all over the county.

43 volunteers including the FullMedia staff, 10 Young Leaders and their families.

Over 120.5 hours of "sweat" equity to sort and box supplies in the  un-airconditioned tractor trailer truck!  Thank you Carroll Daniel Construction for the usage of the truck-the outside storage allowed us to continue to operate in our building during  the school supply drive.
