THE DARING FLIGHT OF MY PEN: Cultural Politics and Gaspar Pérez de Villagra's Historia de La Nueva México, 1610 by Genaro M. Padilla has received Honorable Mention for the Modern Language Association (MLA) Prize in United States Latina and Latino and Chicana and Chicano Literary and Cultural Studies.The prize is one of eighteen awards that will be presented on January 7, 2012 during the association's annual convention in Seattle.
Genaro Padilla is a professor of English and associate dean of Letters and Science at the University of California, Berkeley.
CANYON GARDENS: The Ancient Pueblo Landscapes of the American Southwest by V. B. Price and Baker H. Morrow received a 2011 Design Award from the New Mexico Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The award was presented at a gala on December 3, 2011.
V. B. Price is an award-winning Albuquerque journalist, poet, novelist, and teacher. Baker H. Morrow, FASLA, is a landscape architect in Albuquerque and a professor at the University of New Mexico. He is the author or editor of several books and is also the founding director of the master's program in landscape architecture at the University of New Mexico. |
