Thought for the Day

Thought for the Day

Always remember that a small light will do a great deal when it is in a very dark place.  Put one little small candle in the middle of a large dark hall, and it will give a good deal of light that everyone is able to see (Dwight L. Moody, adapted)

God's Living Word

Men and women who have lived wisely and well will shine brilliantly, like the cloudless, star-strewn night skies. And those who put others on the right path to life will glow like stars forever.(Daniel 12:3, The Message)

Sometimes we find ourselves in times and situations where we wonder, "What is happening?"  "How could they believe that?"  "Why did they do that?" "Nothing I do can make a difference, I feel so alone and helpless to make a difference".

Pastor David Jeremiah makes this observation for those times when we think that nothing will help make things better.

"Being a Christian in the world today can be discouraging at times when we look at how dark our surroundings are becoming.  But just as stars shine brightest when enveloped by a pitch black night sky, the light of Christ should be most radiant in our lives when we are surrounded by the darkness of this day and age."

Remember what Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).  Pastor Jeremiah adds, "Christian, do not be disheartened by the increase of evil in the world; it is simply our cue to take center stage and shine with all our might for the glory of our Savior."

I pray that each of us never forget that we can make a difference when we follow Jesus.  Have a great day letting your light shine for Him.

Have a great day with Jesus and Be There!
