Thought for the Day

Christians ought not to be smothered in fear.  There is a spiritual readiness, where we return to having the peace of God standing guard over our hearts and minds.  What an incredible witness it is to a lost and fearful society when the Christian acts like a child of God, living under the loving sovereignty of our Heavenly Father.  The Christian needs to walk in peace, trusting Jesus, so no matter what happens they will be able to bear witness to a watching world (Henry Blackaby, adapted)

God's Living Word

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thessalonians 3:16, NIV)

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8, NIV)

There is much in our world that can ignite fear in our lives.  Politics, health issues, financial problems, anger, resentment, job uncertainty, relationship issues are all seed beds where fear can grow up in our lives to rob us of the peace God promises us through faith in Jesus.

We live in a fallen world that is lost in sin and Satan is the author of the fears that so often reach up to try and choke the joy of life out of our hearts.  Always remember that Jesus came to once and for all defeat Satan and the fear He desires to bring into our lives.

When you are having one of those times when fear begins to choke out the joy of life, spend a few minutes and think on the empty tomb and know that Jesus has won for us our peace.  It is in Him that we will find the strength and courage to go on with an attitude of peace because we know the outcome of our lives...life in heaven for all eternity!

Have a great day with Jesus and Be There!
