Don't Stop!
Don't Stop!
by Jacques McNeil
Romans 8:13 "For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live".
We've all heard the old adage, "All good things must come to an end." And even though the end of our 21 day fast is near; I don't believe it is actually the end, but rather the beginning. You might ask, "How so?" I believe during the past 21 days a foundation was set for the things which are to come in our lives. It is now our responsibility to keep pushing forward, rather than falling back into the familiar and the comfortable.
Just because the fast will "technically" be over in a matter of hours, it doesn't mean that it's now time to resurrect our old habits. We are holy women of God and this time was specifically set aside so that we could be reconnected with our first love, Jesus Christ. This time was set aside for us to "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, knowing that all that we stand in need of will be added to us." (Matthew 6:33 paraphrased)
My prayer is that such an intimate relationship with the Lord was established and such a hunger and thirst was stirred up for righteousness, that only being in His presence can quench it. Sisters, even though the fast is coming to an end, don't stop spending quality time with the Father through prayer, regular fasting and reading His Word. Don't stop eating those things which will increase the quality of your life. Don't stop exercising as this will develop strength and endurance, and both are needed not just for our physical man, but as we are on this spiritual journey.
Remember, what we put first will order or direct the rest. We made a conscious decision to put the spirit first at the beginning of 2011. As a result, our soul and our body will have to fall in line according to the leading of the Spirit. Choose to live in 2011 as you continue to feed your spirit-man first. It is the dawning of a "New Day", and this is just the beginning, so Don't Stop!

The Praying Life - Monthly Prayer Tips
He Wants It All
by Kimberley Thompson
God's Word For You:
Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you." Joshua 3:5 Application: The command that is given in Joshua 3:5 is for you right now! God wants it all; in fact He wants all of you. As believers we are called to live a life of holiness. The keys to "holy living" requires much discipline, sacrifice and denying ourselves. Let's begin this year by getting our heart and mind in the proper position to the task of holy living by dedicating and devoting ourselves to God through prayer and fasting for the next 21 days. Through these two powerful spiritual disciplines the Holy Spirit can transform your life. Let's face it God is the only one that knows what will unfold in the days ahead. We need to seek His wisdom and direction for the days ahead. He sees the end from the beginning. I want to encourage you to take a bold step of faith and make holiness a priority and pursue a praying life and watch God do some amazing things in your life in 2011. Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I dedicate myself to you. You have called me to be "set apart" from the world. I pray that I will thirst and hunger for holiness and not pursue after the things of the world. You have called me to be different and not blend in with the world. I pray that you will reveal your wisdom and direction for my life during this time of consecration.
Devotional Reading: Consecration is not so much the setting one's self apart from sinful things and wicked end, but rather it is the separation from world, secular and even legitimate things, if they come in conflict with God's plans, to holy uses. It is the devoting of all we have to God for his own specific use. It is a separation from things questionable, or even legitimate, when the choice is to be made between the things of this life and the claims of God. E.M. Bounds

Quote of the Month
When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: Either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly. ~Edward Teller
