Your Waiting Is Not In Vain!!

"For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak , and it will not lie.  Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."
                                                                   Habakkuk 2:3

My mother is a culinary expert.  Not only does she love cooking, she also loves the immediate response she receives after her scrumptious and flavorful dishes touch the taste buds of her dinner guests.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of observing my mother in the kitchen, and I must admit I have learned a lot about the art of cooking.  A key element that a great cook must factor in when preparing any dish is timing.  Each dish has a specific time requirement in order for meals to be "just right."  In fact I am sure we all can attest there is nothing worse than a dish removed from the oven too soon.  From the exterior, certain dishes will appear to be ready for consumption; however, in actuality more cooking time is required.

Our lives are very similar.  We wait for the Lord to bless us in one area or another, whether it's a husband, that new job, becoming pregnant, healing in your body, etc...  We all wait for something to manifest in our lives.  Rest assured that your waiting is not in vain; there is a specific purpose associated with your delay.  The God we serve has a divine timing for specific blessings to manifest in our lives.  He's a "Good Father", and He would never give us something He knows we are not ready for, even if we think we are.

While you are waiting you must be mindful of who you are, and "Who's" you are.  You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation; His own special people, you are established in righteousness, and you are blessed and highly favored!

It may appear as though nothing is happening during your season of waiting, but God is definitely working behind the scenes.  You see, things are being developed in your life during this time that could not happen at any other time.  One very important virtue that is developed during this season is "Patience."  This virtue is extremely difficult for many to embrace in our microwaveable society.

James 1:3-4 says, "Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing".

While you are waiting for God's manifestation, I encourage you to do so expectantly, and in faith.  Faith is the currency of heaven and without faith it's impossible to please God.  Remember, even though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come. God loves you and He promises to watch over His Word to perform it (Jer. 1:12)

Radical Resolve: Choosing to Believe!
by Kimberely Thompson

We often read the Word of God and forget that the heroes of faith were human. It is easy to assume that they did not face all the emotional turmoil that we experience while waiting on God to fulfill His promises. Yes, the Bible does give account of their lives and insight on their weakness and strengths; however we tend to focus on the outcome of the story versus what happened in between.(Hebrew 11) Truth be told, the stories do not share the fatigue, the restlessness and the anxiety that is associated with waiting on God.

Many of us have been hurt and have had boundaries violated which makes it difficult for us to trust mere humans let alone God. Faith is an essential component in our prayer life and walk with God.  Let's face it the heroes of faith were successful because they chose to believe, even when it did not make any sense to their natural minds (Romans 4:19-20) and when their feelings did not line up with what God said (Hebrews 11:11). They pushed passed their emotions and decided to believe Him and risk it all (Romans 4:21).  Their faith was rooted in the fact that they believed God. They took him at his Word.

Let me encourage you; don't give into the temptation to quit. You have come too far to give up.  Pray these scriptures in your sacred place.

Choose to believe the Word of God is rich with possibilities. (Hebrew 11:1-2 and Roman 15:4)

Pray for Endurance: Being strengthened with all power...may have great endurance and patience (Col 1:11)

Pray that your Heart is united to the truth of God's Word: (Psalms 86:11)

Quote of the Month

"Cast not away your confidence because God defers his performances. That which does not come in your time, will be hastened in his time, which is always the more convenient season. God will work when he pleases, how he pleases, and by what means he pleases. He is not bound to keep our time, but he will perform his word, honour our faith, and reward them that diligently seek him"

~Matthew Henry
