Don't Be Silent!
Mary 2008
Don't Be SIlent!
by Jacques McNeil

"But how can people call for help if they don't know who to trust?  And how can they know who to trust if they haven't heard of the One who can be trusted?  And how can they hear if nobody tells them?  And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it?"   That's why Scripture exclaims, "A sight to take your breath away!" " Grand processions of people telling all the good things of God!"     Romans 10:14-15 (The Message)

Do you recall who introduced you to Jesus Christ?  Was it a neighbor, a co-worker, a relative, your parents or pastor; maybe a stranger?  No matter the person, it was knowledge, love, courage and passion that allowed them to shared their faith with you.

In Romans 10:14-15 we are reminded that it is impossible for those who are lost to come to know and trust our loving Savior, unless they are first told of His goodness.  .  The only path to salvation is a person who is filled with knowledge, love, courage and passion proclaiming the good things God has done in their lives.

Ask yourself, when was the last time you told someone of the good things God "has" done, and "is" doing in your life?  Who in your circle of influence has experienced the joy of being introduced to Jesus Christ because YOU shared your faith with him/her?  All around us are people who are hurting, and struggling with feelings of hopelessness.  Our lives should be lived in a way that causes those who are lost to yearn for the relationship we have with Christ.

"Share Your Faith Without Fear" by William Fay was our February literary selection.  In the opening chapter, Mr. Fay informs us that less than 10% of church going Christians shared their faith within the past year.  This is primarily because of fear, which is directly related to a lack of knowing how easy it really is to share your faith.  In this powerful, yet informative book, sharing your faith is outlined in such a way that even a "Babe in Christ" could do it.

My Sisters, imagine if you will, where you might be if the person who led you to Christ remained silent.  Do you remember the impact it had on your life back then, and how your life has changed since that time?  Do you remember the wonderful life you began to enjoy because of the love of Christ?  I challenge you to consider those around you who are "Searching" for the joy and peace you have found because of your relationship with our Savior.

In the midst of our (the world's) economic downturn, God is still good, and continues to be "Jehovah Jireh" - Our Provider.  His plan and purpose is to provide for the needs of His servants and He loads us with benefits daily.  With that in mind, don't be silent; share the good news of Jesus Christ!
I Survived...A Massive Bilateral Pulmonary Embolism
MiraclesI Survived
by Angela Arkwright Birdsong

On January 11, 2008, I passed out while working.  I regained consciousness and immediately experienced horrible chest pain and fast breathing.  It felt like someone was standing on my shoulders and another person was standing on my chest.  I was screaming.  I was taken to UCLA Harbor Medical Center.  I  did not know that I was about to be hospitalized for over a month and spend all of 2008 recovering from being deathly ill.

Pulmonary embolism (PE) is an extremely common and highly lethal condition that is the third leading cause of death in all age groups.  A massive PE is one of the most common causes of unexpected death, being second only to coronary artery disease as a cause of sudden unexpected natural death at any age.  A massive PE involves more than 40-45% of pulmonary circulation.  I had a 90% occlusion, and my right ventricle was   enlarged.

I experienced many complications such as kidney failure, learning to walk and bowel retraining to name a few.  It has been a long road to recovery.  My doctors call me their walking miracle.  Per medical reports and statistics, the prognosis was death.  No air was entering my lungs.  It was expected for me not to make it out of the emergency room alive, and later not to survive surgery or ICU.  The doctors told my parents that I will
not live and everyone should come to say their final goodbyes.  Instead they came and held prayer service in the ICU waiting room.  It was a powerful gathering of prayer warriors, those who loved me and knew that I believed in prayer.

I am now a faithful, obedient and humble servant to His word, will and way.  By the grace of God, I am thriving and I survived.  Thank you Jesus.

This World's Passion
FlowersThis World's Passion
By Dana Frelix

Drifting trees, raging seas, anger that can not be quenched.
Desert sands, parched lands, a region swallowed up by water.
Careless stares, unanswered prayers, all because we choose not to move.
These are the tales of this world's plight.  These are the scenes that won't vanish from sight.
In all of our waiting for change to come, disaster strikes us, one-by- one.
We fall, we fail, we die we cry,
all because we choose not to move.
"Let's leave it for them, they've got nothing to do!"
But all along the choice was for YOU--
to move beyond the "what feels natural"
into a realm that goes beyond the me, the my, the I.
In order to embrace a different view, the you, the us the we--TOGETHER!
Together we can do wonders this world has never seen!
Things that dreamers could never dream!
Making a change giving new meaning to life, to love, to my neighbor as myself.
These are the things this world longs for, lives for, was created to reproduce the good fruit that keeps on growing.
Fruit that will nurture the hungry soul and keep the strong ongoing.
Choose not to move?
How dare we think our lack of care won't cause a ripple of some kind, somewhere.
Each of us has a purpose, a plan, a task,
something to do that together will amass
GREAT strides for the human race that is ONE,
to overcome obstacles we were meant to have won.
It's not too late, get up let's go!
Choose not to move,
I don't think so.
This thing is too close, my brother my sister,
too close to sit idle, let's not ignore the need.
For the next voice that cries might be yours, indeed.
