Expect With Confidence!

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."    Romans 15:13

As a child, you made lists of all the latest toys that you wanted "Santa" to place under your tree for Christmas Day.  You desperately hoped and prayed that Santa would not disappoint you; however, oftentimes you were disappointed because you did not receive all that was on your list.

As an adult, you no longer leave your list for "Santa;" you make your requests known to your Heavenly Father.  However, you often find yourself experiencing the same depth of disappointment you felt as a child because of unanswered prayers.  This may cause many to feel as though God can not be trusted, just like "Santa" could not be trusted.

In Romans 15:13, Paul calls on the God who gives hope to fill you with joy and peace in believing (a direct result of our faith), so you can abound, overflow, and flourish in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  The joy that Paul speaks of is related to the delight of anticipation in seeing one's hopes fulfilled.  The peace referred to in this passage results from the assurance that God will fulfill your hopes.

According to Merriam-Webster, hope is defined as "To cherish a desire with anticipation; or to expect with confidence."  This definition could possibly challenge you to view your prayer requests through a set of lenses contrary to those used as a child.

Allow me to remind you, as a woman of God you can "Boldly" come to the throne of grace, and rest assured that the prayers of the righteous are heard by our Heavenly Father.  The God we serve is an "Excellent Father" and His timing is perfect!

Therefore, continue to come to the throne of grace.  Continue to ask, seek and knock.  Remember the words of Matthew 7:7-8 which says, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Sisters, my prayer is that you will abound in hope as you wait for the manifestation of your prayers.  Do not stop dreaming, hoping or believing, and PLEASE do not stop praying.  As you ask, seek, and knock, commission the Holy Spirit to assist you in synchronizing your spiritual clock to align with God's divine timing for your life.  Understand God's timing is not our timing.  Understand with your spiritual hearts and not your natural hearts.  Rejoice and know that "All delays are not denials."

Radical Obedience: Will You Go When I Call You?
by Kimberely Thompson

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 (Amplified Bible)

Remember what it felt like when you fell in love for the first time? You would have waited by the phone for hours (this was way before cell phones and text messaging). When he or she called, you would have done anything or gone anywhere with them just as long as they asked the question and you were guaranteed to spend sometime with them.

Well the lover of your soul is calling (the Heavenly Father), one that loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3) and desire your whole heart wants to take you somewhere you have never been before this year.

He desires to connect with you intimately in your prayer time like never before. What does this mean for the believer? We are called to conduct our lives differently from the world standards. The amplified bible version of Proverbs 3:5 says it all to "lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart...."This will require you to trust Him fully as an act of your will, to completely place your confidence in Him to have faith that no matter with the circumstances or what is being asked of you, you will go.

Lord God, Almighty Father, I choose to trust in you with all my heart instead of leaning unto my own understanding. In all my ways, I will acknowledge you, and I know that you will direct my paths. Thank you for this truth Father.

Your word, O God, gives me the faith to trust you. Your word, O God, is forever settled in heaven. You watch over your word to perform it. Your word never returns unto you void. It always accomplishes your purposes.

I commit my way to you, Lord God. Almighty God, you are my hope. I look unto you continually. Thank you for the happiness that comes to me as I learn to walk in trust.  Amen

Go Ahead, Expand Your Borders!
by Dana Frelix

This year the women of W.I.T.N.E.S.S. are being challenged to "prepare to expand our borders." This challenge presents us with the exciting task to move beyond those places in our lives that we have dared not cross for fear of what we may or may not encounter.

For some of us expanding our borders could equate to taking our trust in God to a new level, and releasing that problem to Him that we have had our hands on for far too long.   For another, border expansion could equate to opening yourself up to new ventures, new relationships, taking a class, or simply ridding your life of clutter that prevents God from bringing you anything new.

Now, the very thought of border expansion could be intimidating. Venturing into the unknown sometimes is; however, as children of God we have the blessed assurance that expanding our borders, God's way, does not mean expanding beyond His ability to protect and care for us. He has promised that He would never fail or forsake us (Joshua 1:5).  The story of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 12 gives us the perfect example.  Here we have two individuals who trusted God to the point where they left their relatives and country and ventured into a land that God showed them.  There were times when the journey became scary and doubt crept in to their minds; however, they remained with God, and because of their obedience God richly blessed them and made them the "father and mother of many nations."

So, this year take the challenge.  Go ahead, expand your borders. God knows what's waiting for you when you get there. Will you trust Him enough to find out for yourself?  Go ahead, expand your borders and discover a new realm of God's blessings!
