"Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19
Some weeks following the 2008 Presidential election, I sat reminiscing over the various events of 2008. This year like every other year has been filled with blessings, victories, trials and disappointments.
Although the Lord has blessed me abundantly, unanswered prayer requests remain in my life; often, it appears as though I've been waiting for what seems like a life time for the manifestation of my prayers.
During my time of reminiscing, I sat in a reflective mode, thinking about things that had not happened. I remember saying to myself, "This year is over." In other words, since it's so late in the year, nothing else could possibly happen. But as soon as the thought entered my mind, the Holy Spirit quickly and unmistakably spoke to me, "The year is not over yet." I acknowledged the fact that this was the voice of the Lord speaking to me, and I just tucked the word away in my heart and mind.
Well, less than 3 weeks after the Holy Spirit spoke to me, my husband was offered a position as the Executive Director for Bishop Raymond Watts, of the Third Jurisdiction. I just sat and thought, WOW! How awesome is our God and what a blessing and an honor it will be for David to work so closely with this man of God.
Little did I know that there was more to come. This past Sunday, December 28, 2008 was officially our last Sunday as members of West Angeles COGIC. We were led to move our membership to New Direction COGIC in Pomona, CA, where Bishop Raymond Watts is the Pastor. This move is major for both David and me. He has been a member of West Angeles for more than 21 years, and my family and I have been members for more then 25 years, but as Bishop Blake always says, "God will protect where He directs, and He will provide where He guides." God is truly doing a "new thing" and as I write this article, the year is still not over yet, so who knows what else might happen.
Sisters, regardless of how long you've waited for the Lord to answer your prayers, please rest assured that according to Proverbs 15:29b, "He hears the prayers of the righteous." Not only does He hear our prayers, He actually can tell time. The thoughts that He has for us are for good and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). He's always right on time, blessing us often times far beyond what we could have thought or asked in prayer.
Choose not to be deceived by what you can see with your natural eyes; there is a method to what seems to be madness. 1 Corinthians 2:9 states, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him."
Trust in God's Word, believe that He loves YOU and actually does have a wonderful plan for your life, submit your will to His will and watch Him do a "New Thing" in your life. It shall spring forth and He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert for His children.
Happy New Year! Get Ready, Get Ready, Get Ready!
