Thanks to those who made it to the opening day. It was a fabulous start to the year despite some rain. Tomorrow is market #2 and the forecast is..showers again. Yet, the market goes on! Bring your raincoats, umbrellas, farmers market bag and appetite!

This week we feature seeds and starts. Mary Helen Beveridge with Three Graces Garden of Healing sells seeds that have been grown here in Portland...meaning they are already acclimatized for this region. Krista from Mountainside Herbal Nursery will be selling a plethora of starts.. for your home, office desk, indoors or outdoors.... imagine smelling rosemary or basil everytime you come to work? She specializes in 40 kinds of basil, 10 types of mint, delicious tomatoes, other herbs and shrubs and she often has nuts! Be your own farmer and grow your favorite food!

Spread the word.. pass this e-mail on to a friend. The market is here to serve you, so feel free to e-mail with feedback. We invite you to come and support your local food producers in the Auditorium Courtyard near the Mackenzie Hall Fountain off Sam Jackson Road near the Plaid Pantry. See you Tuesday from 11:30-3:30!

A quote from Three Graces Garden of Healing
"Three Graces Garden is an experiment with plants, healing and community. Our interest is to bring plants and people together in practical and meaningful ways. We grow plants that can be used for food and medicine. We save seeds because we feel that this helps us to understand the life of the plants and because we are distressed by the loss of genetic diversity which is happening through the practices of modern agribusiness."

They grow over 100 different varieties of useful plants. You are invited to visit - please call before you go: 503-289-3128, 7056 N. Atlantic Ave. Portland Or. 97217
