Greetings!    Introducing a new product designed to make life easier for all of us who travel with laptop computers!  Starting today, the TSA will accept new check-point friendly laptop bags.  Airport security scanners will now permit you to send your laptop through the scanner without having to remove it from its case or bag and place it in the bin.  Good news for all of us as we will move through the line faster, as will our laptop carrying travel mates.

 

The TSA states that the bag must meet a set of five criteria in order to qualify as checkpoint friendly. 

 

1. Must have a designated laptop-only section.
2. The laptop-only section must completely unfold to lay flat on the X-ray belt.
3. There can be no metal snaps, zippers, or buckles inside, underneath, or on top of the laptop-only section.
4. No pockets are allowed on the inside or outside of the laptop-only section.
5. Nothing can be packed in the laptop-only section other than the computer itself.
 

But rather than racing out on a scavenger hunt to find these bags, call Insight Resource Group. We have a factory who will custom make the bags for us, with your company logo. Of course, there is no guarantee that won't have to remove the laptop from your bag, as the security personnel reserve the right to request removal at any time to continue to make the skies safe for all of us.  However, as long as the bag meets the above standards it should be smooth sailing or rather, flying!
