Joanna WassensThumping Technique Explained

Have your heard of the thumping technique? It's nothing sinister - just another way to use your Stampin' Write markers! So read on to find out how.

1.  Ink your stamp on a pale coloured stampin up ink pad
2.  Choose a darker colour of stampin' write marker that coordinates with the pale ink colour.
3.  Using the paint brush end of the marker, tap the end onto the inked stamp using it like a drum stick.
4.  Stamp the stamp as usual.
5.  You should see a multicoloured stamped image.

Joanna Wassens

It is a quick and easy technique and a great way to get 2 tone images without too much hard work.  It does take a bit of experimentation to get colours that coordinate - but that is half the fun!  Here is a card made using this technique:

Joanna Wassens

I hope you enjoy using the thumping technique on your cards and projects!

If you would like to see me demonstrate this technique, or any other stamping technique you are wondering about, please contact me on (02) 45 777 504 so I can show you how
OR attend one of my classes and ask me how in person!

Joanna WassensHow to use the Colour Spritzer Tool!

The Colour Spritzer Tool gives you another great way to use your Stampin' Write markers.

It can create nice background detail on card or add more concentrated spots of colour, depending on how close to the paper you hold it.

To use the colour spritzer tool you place the marker in the tool barrel with the paint brush end of the marker touching the spritzing point as shown in these photos:

Joanna Wassens     Joanna Wassens

You hold the pen at an angle of 80 degrees from your card. Enclose the entire bulb of the tool with your hand and squeeze strongly.  This will blow air from the bulb across the marker tip and transfer a small amount of the ink colour onto your card.

You can vary the distance of your marker from the card to change the concentration of colour.  Close to the card is concentrated, further away is a softer look, as shown:

Joanna Wassens

Here is a close up where I used spritzing on the base card to give some detail:

And the completed card:

If you already have Stampin' Write Markers this is another way to get more use out of them.  Why not consider adding a colour spritzer tool to your next Stampin' Up! order.

OR If you would like me to show you how to use the colour spritzer tool, why not book a card making night or a Stampin' Up! Demonstration at your house.

Contact me via email or by calling (02) 45 777 504.
