Joanna Wassens Stampin' Up! Re-inkers and what you can do with them!

Stampin' Up! re-inkers are the small bottles of ink that you can purchase to re-ink your ink pads.  They are available in all the 48 classic colours, the 6 'in colours' and the neutral colours for only $4.95 a bottle.
They are also available for Staz on, Versamark, the white craft ink and the metallic inks.

There are many other ways you can use your re-inkers. Here are just a few:

1.  To reink your ink pads!
2.  To dye white ribbon any of the 48 Stampin' Up! colours
3.  To colour crystal effects to compliment your projects.
4.  To dye glitter that you can add to your projects.
5.  To create amazing backgrounds using a range of techniques including using with baby wipes, scrunched paper, bubble wrap and paper towel.
6.  Use to create batik style backgrounds.
7.  Use to dye modelling clay.

Why not consider adding a re-inker to your next order.  I especially recommend this if you have any of the 'in colour' ink pads.  The reinkers for these will not be available after March 2009 and stocks do run out at this time.  Order now to avoid disappointment.

Joanna WassensMasking Technique Explained

Would you like to create 1 layer cards with dimension?  Masking is the way to achieve this.  Read on to find out how......

1.  Stamp the image your would like in the foreground onto your card.
2.  Stamp the same image onto a post it note, scrap paper or vellum. (if you would like to be able to see the image through the paper)
3.  Cut out the image on the scrap paper exactly or slightly smaller.
4.  Layer this mask on top of your foreground image. Use a repositionable adhesive on your scrap paper or vellum mask.
5.  Stamp your background, or other images on top of or around your first image.
6.  The background will appear behind the foreground image when you remove your mask.

On the card shown above I have used 2 masks on the presents on either side then stamped the centre present to appear behind the others.

If you would like to see me demonstrate this technique, or any other stamping technique you are wondering about, please contact me on (02) 45 777 504 so I can show you how
OR attend one of my classes and ask me how in person!

Happy Stamping!

Joanna WassensHow to make a Window Card!

Window cards are a novel idea, and a great way to create a card that is slightly different.

To create a window card you will need:

- Vellum (cardstock weight preferably)
- Cardstock
- 1 3/8th inch square punch (although you can use other punches if you wish)
- Stamps
- Ribbon
- Dazzling diamonds glitter

1.  Use the 1 3/8th inch square punch to create a rectangular window in your card front by punching twice, side by side.
2.  Punch a matching window in the first layer of your card.
3.  Stamp images on vellum that will fit inside your window hole.  I used the ornaments from the 'Hung up on the Holidays' stamp set for the card above.
4.  Stamp images on to the first layer of your card.  In this case I used the beautiful swirl stamp from the 'Baroque Motifs' stamp set, and a greeting from 'Short and Sweet'
4.  Tie ribbon onto around the first layer of your card, through the window hole, before attaching the vellum.
5.  Adhere the vellum to the first layer of your card.
6.  Being careful to line up the window holes adhere the first layer (and vellum) to your card front.
7.  Apply dazzling diamonds glitter with 2-way glue pen if desired.

If you would like me to show you how to make these and other interactive cards, why not book a card making night or a Stampin' Up! Demonstration at your house. Give me a call to book a date!
