"I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out...
Moon Landing With Flag
...of landing a man on the Moon
and returning him safely to the Earth."
-John F. Kennedy, 1961
Help Flux land on the Moon

40 years ago, humans walked on the moon for the first time. The moon landing was a symbol of hope at the end of the most tumultuous decade in recent U.S. history.

In November, Flux will produce The Lesser Seductions of History, a new play by August Schulenburg, that follows the lives of 10 characters through the 10 difficult years of that decade, culminating in the moon landing.

Why? We want to explore the choice to commit to something bigger than yourself - what is lost, what is gained. With civil rights, women's rights, free love, the peace movement, and the moon, the 1960's perfectly embody the struggles of that choice.

We need your help in exploring that something bigger. Those words from Kennedy challenged America to reach the moon by the end of the decade, and it was accomplished.

And here is our challenge to you - 10 lives, 10 years, $10,000.

How can you help us get there?

1) Come to Flux's special FOOD:SOUL benefit party:
Join us on Sunday, August 9 for a homemade meal, a staged reading of Rob Ackerman's delightful Volleygirls, live musicians and $3 drafts. Doors open at 4, the reading begins at 5:30 and the bands start at 7:30, all at Blondies Sports on The East Side at 1770 Second Avenue (Bet. 92nd & 93rd).
Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door, so click HERE to purchase your tickets now!

2) Participate in our raffle - one for $3, two for $5, or why not thirty for $40? With prizes like tickets to the Daily Show, Shakespeare In The Park, and more, you can help Flux and walk away with some cool stuff doing it.
Click HERE to see more prizes and purchase tickets.

3) Can't come to the benefit party, but want to contribute?
Click HERE to make a tax-deductible donation.
Our goal is to reach $10,000 by opening night, so if if 1,000 people each gave $10, we'd be walking on the moon
.
