| Greetings!
If you've seen our recent productions of Pretty Theft, The Angel Eaters Trilogy or Other Bodies, then you know Flux is dedicated to producing exciting work from new playwrights. What you may not know is that much of that work comes out of our weekly play development process, Flux Sundays. Read on to learn more about how we're sharing that process with you (over beers!) at our next Have Another. Then watch our crazy acceptance video for the ITBA's Citation for Excellence, and learn more about our eye-opening journey to San Francisco for the National Summit of Ensemble Theatres.
Read all about it, and help us make it all happen.

Thank You Video For The ITBA
|
Flux was thrilled to receive the Independent Theatre Blogger's Association Citation for Excellence Off-Off Broadway. So when they asked for an acceptance video, we knew it couldn't be any old thing. But then we remembered our upcoming production of The Lesser Seductions of History is set in the 1960's, and realized the video could be an homage to an exceptional artist from that decade. And once we got started, we knew we had a lot more people to thank than just the ITBA. SO! In honor of everyone who has helped us get here, and in the spirit of Bob Dylan's classic video, Subterranean Homesick Blues, we give you...
Flux's ITBA Acceptance Video
Check it out - you might just be in it!

National Summit Of Ensemble Theatres
|
For 5 days in June, Core Members Heather Cohn and August Schulenburg immersed themselves in the National Summit Of Ensemble Theaters, a conference in San Francisco exploring the shared challenges and opportunities of theatres working as collaborative ensembles.
It was an eye-opening and humbling experience, as we celebrated The San Francisco Mime Troupe's 50th anniversary; engaged in spirited conversations about diversity, quality and sustainable models; learned from 1-on-1 conversations with Ensemble leaders like Laurie McCants and Alisha Tonsic; and thrilled to speakers like Rhodessa Jones and Arlene Goldbard.
Read the first post on our blog about improving quality in the field, and stay tuned for more posts as we attempt to move the challenging questions from the conference forward into practice.
