"People of the Year"

December 2008
Greetings!

Flux Theatre Ensemble would like to thank the artists involved in The Angel Eaters Trilogy and everyone who came to see the shows. It was through your support that we have now been honored by nytheatre.com as one of 2008's "People of the Year!"

Also, we'd like to welcome Angela Astle as our newest member of Flux. She has already proven to be an invaluable asset to the company and we look forward to her amazing work in the future.

And, be sure to save the date (February 20, 2009) for Battle of the Bards, the 4th annual benefit for Partial Comfort Productions. We are honored to have been chosen to participate in this exciting event!

Finally be on the lookout for our next newsletter, where we will reveal our 2009-2010 season.

Flux Theatre Ensemble is one of nytheatre.com's "People of the Year!"   Each year, nytheatre.com selects 15 theatre artists "who have made indelible contributions to the cultural landscape during the past 12 months." They include actors, directors, playwrights, designers, theatre companies, and several Renaissance men and women who wear many hats in the indie theater world.

Thanks to Martin Denton and everyone at nytheatre.com for this distinguished honor!

Be sure to cheer on Flux as we compete in the 4th Annual Battle of the Bards, a benefit hosted by Partial Comfort Productions. It's a "one-night-only theater competition pitting seven of New York City's hottest emerging theater companies against each other in a stage-fight to the finish." Each participating company assembles an artistic team consisting of playwright, director and actors, performs their play and the winner is determined by a panel of celebrities and industry professionals. Past judges have included Sigourney Weaver, Oskar Eustis, Christopher Durang and Julia Stiles.

Flux welcomes newest member, Angela Astle
Angela Astle
Angela came to NYC from Denver, CO in August of 2007 to work as the venue director for the Flamboyan Theatre at CSV.  That's where she met many talented and wonderful artists including Flux Theatre Ensemble.  She began directing scenes for them on Flux Sundays and is now honored to be included as a member.
