| Greetings!
The year has just begun, but already so much is happening. First, we are honored to be the recipient of our first grant: a $500 Organizational Development Grant from Fractured Atlas.
Next, in anticipation of our June 2008 mainstage production, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Flux is producing an exploratory reading series called the Imagination Compact (more information below).
We are also working on another Food:Soul Potluck, as well as planning a fun-filled fundraiser event in April. Look for more information in the coming weeks.
Finally, thanks to all who have made a financial contribution to Flux. If you have yet to do so, remember, it's never too late to donate...every little bit helps!

"The lunatic, the lover, and the poet,
Are of imagination all compact"
--A Midsummer Night's Dream
The Imagination Compact
April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19
Four evenings exploring Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, featuring directors Angela Astle, Jaime Robert Carrillo, Scott Ebersold, and Kate Marks
Contributing Playwrights Include: Rob Ackerman, Liz Duffy Adams, Jeremy Basescu, Erin Brown, Bekah Brunsetter, Katherine Burger, Melissa Fendell, Joe Mathers, Kristen Palmer, Brian Pracht, Adam Szymkowicz
The Imagination Compact is the prelude to Flux's June 2008 production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Inspired by the quote above, The Imagination Compact is a series of staged readings of short plays riffing on the characters of Midsummer. Divided into four nights in the spring, each evening will focus on one of the four worlds of the play: The Lovers, The Lunatics (the mechanicals), the Poets (the royals), and the Fairies. This project will challenge our traditional notions of the play and channel Shakespeare's vision of transformation through contemporary voices. |
| Every Little Bit Helps |
As you can see, we have an ambitious year ahead of us: a classic comedy, a searing tragedy, and an epic trilogy in repertory. And we can only tackle these big artistic risks with your support. We are nearly halfway to meeting our 2008 fund-raising goal, but we're not there yet. Last year, Flux staged two full productions and developed over fifty new plays. Your tax-deductible gift, whether five dollars or five thousand, will help us continue this vital work. Please use the link below to support our Season of Transformation: Donate Online |
