Bohemia Outdoor presents RAW! bringing to the big screen a mixed bag of funny, charming and fresh short films from some of WA's hottest young filmmakers. The program includes films produced through FTI / ScreenWest funding initiatives, Raw Nerve and Link, designed to provide opportunities for emerging West Australian filmmakers.

Screen Australia seeks to ignite digital understanding, expertise and activity within the Australian screen content sector. The announced program offers project development support as well as an annual targeted workshop. More here

BROOME FILMMAKER, CORNEL OZIES, WINS AWARD
Annually, the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) bestow an array of rich and practical awards to a selection of outstanding students. The AV Myers Indigenous Award for exceptional talent was presented by renowned filmmaker Rachel Perkins, on behalf of Andrew Myer, to Cornel Ozies (Graduate Diploma Cinematography 2011) who also received a grant of $20,000. WA FILM A FINALIST IN OPTUS ONE80 PROJECT
'Chasing a Martingale' has been announced as a finalist. Entrants were asked to submit a 180 second pilot for a chance to get their idea produced and aired on MTV, with a budget of $180,000! You can vote for the WA film online. More here

The 2012 Yalllingup Surfilm Festival was hailed
by organisers and participants as a huge success
and Finnsurf by director Aleksi Raik was awarded

NASA's DUO OFF TO NEW YORK
Co-founders of the Nicholsons' Academy of Screen Acting (NASA), former FTI Head Lecturer in Diploma of Screen Acting, Fern Nicholson and former FTI Head Lecturer Diploma of Screen & Media - Digital Production, Wayne Nicholson, have announce they have been invited to teach at the prestigious French Woods, described by the New York Times as 'the gold standard of theatre camps'. From December 2011 to March 2012 the City of Fremantle and the Film & Television Institute WA (FTI) is making the iconic Bohemia Outdoor Cinema available for public hire at heavily subsidised rates.
For community groups this is an excellent fundraising opportunity. For Filmmakers it's a great way to get your premiere noticed. Or for Local Businesses and Social Clubs it may simply be a chance to host a Christmas Party with a difference. More Make and ON-LINE ENQUIRY HERE

TROPFEST RETURNS TO FREMANTLE FOR 2012
Featuring the top 16 finalist short films selected from hundreds of entries, Tropfest will be screened as part of the Bohemia Outdoor Community Cinema.
