Namaste!
Have you ever experienced one of those times in your life when you see the same message over and over, from different sources? Every magazine, every e-mail, every book, every bumper sticker points to one particular thing?
I'm in that spot right now, and the recurrent message is about waiting. It's a word with so many emotional connotations: impatience, discomfort; a place where nothing is happening, a time of empty space, but filled with a sense of expectation or anticipation of what is to come. The image that has accompanied the message is the butterfly's chrysalis.
What if we, like the caterpillar, get to a point where we need to "cocoon up" and just wait? What if we need to figure out how to create a space-physically, emotionally, spiritually-wherein we just sit, just stay, just BE?
What would happen if, in these quiet and introspective times, we could wait without filling the void with work and people and movement, and just hold the space for an amazing transformation that could not happen any other way?
We know how the story of the caterpillar ends. She cocoons. She waits. One day she simply knows it is time and she carefully breaks free of the waiting space she no longer needs. Bright, colorful wings spread, and she flies.
Imagine the possibility of the beauty and grace awaiting us if we could just be still and ever so patiently, wait...
Peace,
Jill |

Counterbalance the stress of their hurry-up world
Children's lives can be almost as busy as ours are. Sports teams. Homework. Lessons. Video games. Friends. And keeping up with busy parents. The stress of it all can zap the joy from their sweet lives.
Kid's Yoga helps to counterbalance these stressful influences and gives them tools to navigate their lives with more ease. It can also help them gain self-confidence and body awareness in a noncompetitive environment, fostering cooperation and compassion.
For details and to register your 6-10 year old child for the six-week Kid's Yoga series starting March 18, click the Workshop tab on the Web Scheduler. |
Yoga Sadhana
|
|
Sadhana is any yoga practice that uplifts the spirit, tunes us in to the true self and clears the cluttered mind. It allows for the cultivation of self-knowledge and self-transformation as we realize our inherent oneness with the universe.
Many people come to yoga to escape the madness, which is certainly a good reason in our hectic world. But you also can come to Yoga Sadhana to explore a gentle flow, slow deep breathing and chanting that will make your mind steady and your willpower strong -- so you can move through the forces of the world with love and understanding. It's the perfect way to start or end your busy week.
Join Amy this Friday, March 7, at 6:30pm and Sundays, March 16, 23 and 30 at 10am. To register, visit the Web Scheduler.
