Namaste!

You can read about what's happening at the blue in the articles that follow. It's all wonderful -- a celebration weekend for a great cause, a tropical yoga retreat, Dominique's return, special workshops... However, what I really want to share this month is a conversation I had last week with a very dear yogini friend. It went something like this:

"I had an epiphany in class the other day.  Or a... something..."

"What was that?" I asked, always interested to hear yoga stories.

"We were in a deep pose and I heard myself repeating the mantra 'I don't want to do this, I don't want to do this...'  Then, almost as if in response, another voice replied 'what if you decided you DID want to do this?'"

I get excited about this kind of thing.  "Oh, that's good stuff! Great!"

"Well sort of," she continued, "but then the first voice immediately refused, negated, and otherwise vetoed the suggestion, demanding, 'I don't wanna, I don't wanna!"

Interesting, isn't it? And familiar, yes? But this is the practice!  It is the point at which we come to recognize our own thoughts and see the power we have to begin to change them, and subsequently, our experiences in life.

Thanks for all the stories and experiences you share.  I'm deeply grateful and regularly awed by your participation at the blue, and your willingness to change and grow.

Peace,

Jill

Yin and Yang
Integrated Practice Weekend

bl swooshWeave together the healing powers of two types of yoga into an integrated, balanced practice

We begin with Yin Yoga, a quiet, gentle practice that encourages the body/mind to open as each pose is held passively for several minutes. Target the deep, dense connective tissues, the ligaments and fascia, releasing resistance while activating the flow of prana through your body's core.

From here we transition into a Yang practice with deep breathing, heat and intense pose sequences to deepen your edges of self-discovery while cultivating strength, flexibility and energy flow. Experience the freedom of being fully at home in your body: energized, open, powerful and graceful.

Friday, February 22, 6:30 - 9:00pm
Saturday, February 23, 10:00am - 1:00pm
Saturday, February 23, 3:00 - 6:00pm
Sunday, February 24, 9:00am - 12:00pm

Register for any one session for $55; entire weekend is $150 before February 1, $180 after. For details and to register, visit the Web Scheduler.

February Workshops

40-Day Practice continues through February 16

We are more than half-way through 40 Days of Transformation, but it's never too late to drop in! 7:00-7:30 am, daily.

Chakra Journey, Part 3 of 9, with Matthew

Bring energy and balance to the second chakra, which channels your passion for life and ability to go with the flow. In your body, the second chakra governs the sexual and reproductive organs, the bladder, and the digestive system. Balancing the second chakra can help us deal with emotions as well as issues of food and sexuality. 10:00 am-Noon, Sunday, February 3.

Surrender with Dominique

Surrender into grace. Be with beauty.  Love, simply is. Experience the Presence in a two-hour workshop journeying through vinyasa, kundalini, stillness, music and silence. All levels are welcome. 2:00-4:00 pm, Saturday, February 9.

Partner Yoga with Carrington and Yvonne

Bring a friend or partner and discover the power of two in exploring movement, trust, connection and interdependence. No experience with yoga is required. 6:30-8:00 pm, Friday, February 15

For the complete schedule, information about classes and to register, visit the Web Scheduler.
