Positive trends in Kids Count report tempered by rise in poverty, cases of abuse


The newly-released Kids Count in Michigan Data Book brings hope and heartache in the on-going struggle to ensure a better future for children. The hope is evident in emerging positive trends in most of the 15 areas of child well-being. The heartache is in a dramatic rise of poverty rates and cases of abuse and neglect throughout Michigan.
