Jalen Rose Academy, three other schools to open


Michigan Future Schools will announce grants to open four new high-quality schools at a news conference Friday morning. Representatives from the new schools will be in attendance, including ESPN/ABC analyst and native Detroiter Jalen Rose, Robert Bobb of the Detroit Public Schools and Michigan Future Inc. President Lou Glazer. The news conference will take place at The Skillman Foundation, 100 Talon Centre Drive, Suite 100, Detroit.

Youth development RFP session set for Thursday


The Skillman Foundation will provide information to grantees from 9 a.m.-noon Thursday about the awarding of three, $300,000 grants to nonprofit organizations to develop quality programs and services for youth.
