Let Sepp play the Zither for you this weekend Party with your friends! |
|
Master Jodler, Zither and Accordion player Sepp Diepolder is from
Lake Constanz in Bavaria and specializes in Tyrolean and Bavarian
music and will play in the Restaurant.
Along with his excellent singing, he is very entertaining, and can
jodel up a storm. Sepp has extensive experience in the national and
international arena and has performed in such locations as: EXPO
'67 Canada; The Old Munich, Montreal, Canada; The Heidelberg Castle,
Sarasota, FL; Sonnenalp, Vail, CO.; World's Fair EXPO '88 in
Australia; many Oktoberfests all across the United States and
various locations in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Holland,
Denmark and Belgium. Sepp has played at the Bavarian Grill several
times in the past and we are very happy to have him back for this
weekend.
One of our guests wrote: "Just quick note to say that I've enjoyed
Bavarian Grill and all it has offered since moving to the area 9
years ago. Part of the enjoyment has been the fun provided by the
various combinations of musicians from Alpenmusikanten (not to
mention the monthly performance of the entire band). These guys are
great and have become friends. On that note, I wanted to recommend that you give some special
billing to the musician who will be performing in the dining room on
October 23 until 25. Sepp Diepolder is much more than someone thrown
in to fill the schedule while the normal musicians are playing an
out-of-town Oktoberfest. Sepp is a gifted musician and is
recognized as one of the top zither players anywhere. It's not too
often that a North Texas audience has the opportunity to hear the
zither, and with Sepp it will be a very special experience. Twice a year when Sepp comes to Plano, the Bavarian Grill is
always packed with Sepp performing. His talent is deserving of that and
it might bring in even a bigger crowd than you normally enjoy on
weekends. I look forward to my next visit to
the Bavarian Grill. Best regards, Ron Wieland. |

 Stein Club Corner
November Dinner features Eisbein
Another delightful fall treat awaits
Bayern Stein Club members and other guests on November 12th, when we will enjoy Eisbein. Since the lighter style
Biers are popular with this dish, two half-liters of Hofbrau will be included with the dinner. And for those who need help to finish the Eisbein, we will do the "share an Eisbein", where the second person pays $ 14.75 for the sides, the shot and the Bier. Eisbein, a very generous,
slightly smoked and cured ham hock. It is
traditionally served with mashed potatoes,
sauerkraut, pea puree and a shot of Obstler after
the dinner. This year the price of $ 29.75. or $24.75 for Stein Club members, includes
all of the above and two 1/2 liter glasses filled
with the authentic Hofbraeu Original. The dinner is
open for all friends of the Bavarian Grill, but due
to the long cooking time we can only serve this very
special feast to those friends who called ahead
at 972 881 0705 or email
bavarian@bavariangrill.com for reservations!
Please RSVP by November 11. Please send us an email at bavarian@bavariangrill.com
or contact the Bavarian Grill at 972-881-0705 for reservations. These Special dinners --
open to all guests of the Bavarian Grill -- are normally held on the
second Wednesday night of every odd month. Regular Stein Club
meetings are scheduled on the second Wednesday night of every
even month. The December Stein
Club Meeting is scheduled for the 10th at 7 pm in the Biergarten.
This will be a regular fun Stein Club Christmas party and it is also our traditional
kick-off for the TOY drive to benefit North Texas Foster Children. Admission to the party is a brand new toy per person. Last year we had over 100 toys and we want to beat that number this year.
You can purchase a cute Teddy bear at the bar for only $ 10 - this money will go to the "Make-a-wish-Foundation". You see your Stein Club is working hard to help many children!
We are now accepting
non-perishable food items during our Thanksgiving food drive benefitting God's Food Pantry. The items will be delivered no later than November 15.
If you forget and would still like to help someone out, don't worry.
We'll take cash donations and purchase food items for you.

Our Featured Bier: Hofbraeu
Muenchen Dunkel
|
|
Dark beer
existed in Bavaria long before light beer. This was the first type
of beer to be brewed at Hofbräuhaus when it was founded. Today, when
beer-lovers all over the world talk about dark beer, they usually
mean a Munich style beer.
Today, Hofbräu
Dunkel - the archetypal Bavarian beer - is still as popular as ever.
With its alcoholic content of around 5.5% volume and its spicy
taste, it's a refreshing beer that suits all kinds of occasion. A
beer in the traditional Munich style! |
