This year's white asparagus crop looks and tastes fantastic! Our
guests are giving us many compliments and we sold MORE THAN 3 times as much
as last year already. Since we are bringing more White Asparagus to North
Texas than anyone else - and serve it while it is fresh and tastes
best. This is the favorite time of the year for the lovers of the Queen
of vegetables and the time for you to celebrate "Weisser Spargel Fest" with us.
And this year's season will last only until St. Johannisday. So, please

Original
German Style lager brewed in a two tank system following German
guidelines of aging. Light Golden Color. Fresh, smooth,
lightly hoped, with a nicely balanced malt sweetness,
and the
Franconia Weizen 1/3l = $ 3.50, 1/2l = $ 4.75
Bavarian
Style Wheat Beer. This beer is very popular in particular in
southern Germany. Using an original German yeast strain in the brewing
process contributes to the natural fruity flavor of Banana, Orange and
Cloves, giving it a outstanding refreshing taste. Of course this Wheat Beer comes
unfiltered leaving all the natural goodness in it.
The Name Franconia was chosen for several different reasons.
First off, Franconia translates to Franken in German, a small region
with in Germany having the largest number of breweries per population
ratio in the world. Franken also being the birth place of our brew
master Dennis Wehrmann. A second special reason is to carry on the
family brewery name of Franken Braeu being Franconia Brewing.

remember my first visit there in 2000, when we took the subway from the train
station and walked up the steps at Marienplatz station.... When you step
out onto Marienplatz, you come face to face with
this huge beautiful building, and the Glockenspiel. I'll
never forget seeing the huge crowd of people sitting at their tables, enjoying
a beer and waiting for the show at 11:00. The atmosphere was one of
happiness and relaxation. It was a wonderful way to start my first trip
to Munich."

Stein Club Corner
Our June meeting on June 11 will feature a guest appearance of Dennis Wehrmann, from the Frankonia Brewery. He comes from a family with a real brewing history. Born in Nurnberg Germany in the midst of Bavaria he grew up in an area
surrounded by several historic breweries. However not just the area
influenced his decision to become a brew master, you can tell the love
for brewing beer must be inherited. Regular Stein Club
meetings are scheduled on the second Wednesday night of every
even month.
Plan ahead for our annual Sommer Spiessbraten Dinner on July 9th - This popular dinner features a juicy
pork roast rubbed with special herbs and spices, it comes with pretzel rolls
and Krautsalat, the Bavarian cole slaw. The Franziskaner brewery will match
this special dinner with two choices of their famous wheat bier $ 29.75 or $24.75 for Stein Club members. An ambassador will talk briefly about the history of the brewery and the Bier.
