Golf's Greatest Players to Caddy For A Cure in 2012
As the 2011 season slowly comes to a close, Caddy For A Cure is eagerly looking forward to kicking off the 2012 season. It is sure to be another exciting year as many of the greatest players in the world have committed to "caddy for a cure."
World Ranked #1 Luke Donald has once again agreed to support Caddy For A Cure. Donald will be allowing a super fan to join him "inside the ropes" and carry his bag at the inaugural RBC Heritage Classic at the famed Harbour Town Golf Links. Joining Donald there will be Fed EX Cup Champion Bill Haas, and fan favorite Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey.
Also committed to "caddy for a cure" in 2012 is rising superstar Webb Simpson at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando. Australian nice guy and great player Adam Scott will have someone carrying his bag at Fort Worth's historic Colonial track. Steve Williams will step aside and let you call the yardage for the Aussie, which should prove to be an incredible day.
Of course many of these wonderful experiences will have the honor of being "escorted" by one of our brave wounded warriors through Birdies for the Brave. Caddy For A Cure is so appreciative of this honor, and we cherish the opportunity to feebly say "thanks" to so many who have given so much for our freedom.
With the holidays around the corner, what a perfect gift idea for the avid golfer in your life. A great customer gift, client expense, or even a father child or mother child experience that you will never forget. Come, Caddy For A Cure!

Zach Johnson "Caddy's For A Cure" in Boston
It was the consummate "Caddy For A Cure" experience. A former Caddy For A Cure participant gifted two young caddy's from the First Tee of Boston program the opportunity to caddy for one of the world's best players, Masters Champion Zach Johnson. This amazing gift was a wonderful reward for these two young people who have demonstrated exceptional attributes in character and integrity. For us, this is what golf, life and giving are all about. We kicked off our "Caddy For A Cure with Character" program last year as a way for corporate and individual sponsors to reward aspiring golfers with a caddy experience. The prerequisites - not neccesarily the best golfer on the team - but could be. The one who shows up early, stays late. May even have called a penalty on themselves that cost them a match. A pure "team" player that says "yes sir" and "yes ma'am." You know the kid. And we want to pick them out and reward them in a game they love. Our sponsor in Boston felt the same way and we could not agree with her more. She went to the First Tee of Boston's Joe McCabe and asked for two of the best to share this, and he made his rifle shot to Cora and Max.
Both Cora and Max had the day of their life with the incredibly down to earth and wonderful guy Zach Johnson. One would think they would be a little intimidated with a major champion asking them for yardages and clubs, but these two wonderful young golfers were up to the task, and then some. Of course, they had terrific guy and player himself, TOUR caddy Damon Green, in the wings waiting to help if they got stuck.
It is always amazing to us how these things work out. Kids with character working with a guy with incredible character. Parents walking alongside outside the ropes prouder than anything about their children, as they worked with a guy who could not be prouder about his own. The personalities of these four on this day were beyond our wildest dreams of a super day!
Do you know a young, character filled golfer that deserves some special attention? Let's find a sponsor for them and allow them to experience golf at the highest levels and let them "Caddy For A Cure!" PLEASE CLICK HERE TO EMAIL US ABOUT SPONSORING A CADDY FOR A CURE WITH CHARACTER DAY |

Focus on Fanconi
What an incredible year it has been for Caddy For A Cure and our never ending quest to raise awareness and funds for Fanconi Anemia. One way we have done that this year is through the "reason for the season" and our National Spokesperson Christian Collins, and his brother and National Diplomat Calen.

To have these two young men out on TOUR with us so many times during the season introducing FA to so many is a blessing in and of itself. Trying to explain an inherited genetic bone marrow disorder can be quite difficult as it has been over the past 18 years...but one meeting with these two fine boys pretty much sums it up.
Not all FA patients display the same characteristics of the disease...but both Christian and Calen do. But with these two happy and smiling faces you quickly see well beyond the physical and into the heart. AKA "Batman" and "Robin," at 18 and 13 years of age, these two are beyond a delight to be around.

Seeing them up close, representing a cause that goes beyond anyone's heart to the very best in the game, has been incredible. We are so grateful to these two young men for what they have done not only this year, but with their lives, as well. They have given hope, they have made change, and they have been an inspiration to anyone who has had the honor of meeting them.

Liberty Mutual Invitational a Huge Success!
The Liberty Mutual Invitational benefiting Caddy For A Cure was recently held at TPC Eagle Trace and was another huge success. PGA Professionals Bryan Stone and Derek Fox outdid themselves putting on a show that may be one of the best one day events for charity in the country. With Liberty Mutual's generous sponsorship, every contestant had a great day of fun, food, golf and inspiration!
Who can say whether it was the Abe & Louie's brilliant on course food, the Club Manager's Association of America sponsored shirts, or Liberty Mutual's incredible goodie and prize packages, but everyone had a wonderful time. Our deepest appreciation goes out to all the wonderful sponsor like Sharpie, Newell Rubbermaid, Golden Bear Challenge, Tavistock, PGA TOUR, Olga Stamitou, TaylorMade, and many other individuals.....but a very special THANK YOU to U-Haul, who sponsored us in being able to bring in (3) very special wounded warriors to participate with us. Talk about a company that "gets it." We cannot encourage you enough to use U-Haul as your choice of moving equipment and related. Dennis Walters and Bucky kicked off the day with a special show that included World Long Drive finalist Brandon Holden, who hit one for KRANK Golf that day 418 Yards! We normally need a stamp to send one this far.... And in the end, we had a terrific evening with Captain Ben Baar and his father, Ben Sr., sharing some of his 21 years of service to our country, along with some of his memories of his amazing day with the greatest golfer of all time, Jack Nicklaus. Our winners (Team Mountcastle) were happy campers (ok, golfers) indeed as they received their Liberty Mutual awards and qualifying trip to the Nationals at Pinehurst #2. Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, and special people who made this event an enormous success! We could NOT do this without you!

Greetings!
It is nearly impossible to fathom that as we end this season, we are entering into our 10th season of a dream. The dream of offering this exclusive and "rarified air" experience of caddying for one of the world's best in support of an effort to raise awareness and funds for many who are less fortunate.
To say that there have not been some head scratching nights lying awake looking at the ceiling wondering if this is the right thing to be doing, would be false. These thoughts quickly go away when we see the eyes of a new "caddy," showing them golf behind the scenes up close.
The doubts race from our memory when we meet a family suffering from the plight of Fanconi Anemia and we feel so helpless, so small, and with so much desire to assist.
And the doubts are not even a figment of our imagination when we meet the wounded warriors and introduce them to their PGA TOUR player for the day...watching them as they walk, or try to walk, down a fairway with one of the world's best. The glimpses through the camera lens of a smile that comes from no where but the heart makes it all worthwhile.
We have come a long way from the first thoughts of "caddying for a cure." And in many ways, still a long way to go. We would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and the happiest of holiday seasons. We trust you will come with us next season and "caddy for a cure!"
Sincerely,
Russ Holden PGA
