GO TIME FOR GOLF AND CHARITY AT FRYS.COM OPEN
One of the brightest stars to come along in quite some time to the world of golf recently participated with Caddy For A Cure at the Frys.com Open. Rickie Fowler had caddy Robert David spend the day with him just south of San Francisco.

It does not get much better than this folks. Rickie is one REALLY cool young man, and the people at Frys.com could not have been nicer with helping Robert have the day of his life "inside the ropes." We were thrilled for Rocco, but rooting for Rickie during that exciting last round at the Frys.com!
As is often the case, the local media really loved this unique twist to charitable giving and Robert was an instant celebrity. What a great story about some great people and the great game of golf.
Fresh off his exciting debut in the Ryder Cup, Rickie was all "GO TIME" as he likes to say, knocking flags down with shot after shot of perfection. Robert stood back in awe of seeing one of the best this close and this personal.
It can be a little nerve wracking to be standing next to one of the best players in the world, on stage, and having them ask you what you think they should hit. Robert had a blast on the gorgeous Corde Valle golf course trying to club Rickie...
Lots of nice perks being able to be inside a professional golf event at the highest levels...Robert liked what he saw and wanted to drive it home. Sorry pal, you have to hole one to get something like this...
Robert's lovely wife Sue not only made the early trek down to the event, but also was all smiles watching her husband have such a great time, as well as from knowing how many less fortunate people they were assisting with their efforts. As the Governor of California likes to say..."I'll be back!" BOTH Robert and Rickie said they will be back for more. We have Rickie lined up for one of his favorite tracks at Hilton Head in the spring, and Robert is still looking to pick his next spot to "caddy for a cure."

Caddy For A Cure is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Nicholas Boggs. Nicholas's FA fight was an incredibly strong one, and one that inspired so many people who came in touch with him during his short life. We are stunned by this loss, and our quest continues to "caddy for a cure" for this horrific disease.
There are no words to describe the joy that this young man brought to everyone who had the honor of meeting him. Nicholas was "the life of the party" and then some. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Boggs Family, as well as to the entire FA FAmily.
If you would like to help us remember Nicholas, please consider giving to the "Brick for Nicholas" Fund. This brick will be purchased and made for one of his favorite places in the world, Camp Sunshine.

This was a tough month for us at Caddy For A Cure. As you read a few blocks above, we lost a dear FA child in Nicholas Boggs. Unfortunately, here is another report about the loss of one of our dearest friends and former Board Member, Richard Oates.
Years ago, Richard had acquired Hepatitis C and subsequently underwent two liver transplants in his fight to beat it. Despite the transplants, Richard continued his fight valiantly till the end. Richard personified what Caddy For A Cure is all about, and then some. Those of you out on TOUR who had the chance to meet him know there were few cooler people walking the face of the earth, and know that he really cared. He wasn't a guy who said he cared and then did nothing about it, he rolled up his shirt sleeves and figured out a way to really help.
Isn't that what Caddy For A Cure is all about? Isn't that what it offers you in the world of golf the chance to do the same? You say you care about others, and want to help, and cFAc gives you the best chance to do just that. Whether it be a posting in your locker room, forwarding it on to your friends, having your business help out, or caddying yourself. It is all about helping.
We met some young men who were really struggling with FA. It touched us so deeply that we said we wanted to help, and, with Richard's incredible support and assistance, we did something in some small way about it.
Richard is seen above at the Byron Nelson a few years ago with cFAc pal and supporter Sergio Garcia. Wearing his prized Ziglar shirt, doing what he loved to do best. Oh yeah, he was out on TOUR with the best of the best, but what he really loved doing most was helping others...see you soon my brother!
Sincerely,
Russ Holden PGA Caddy For A Cure Founder
