CADDY FOR A CURE COMING TO 3M CELEBRITY CHALLENGE
Caddy For A Cure, the professional golf opportunity of a lifetime to go inside the ropes at PGA TOUR venues, is coming to Pebble Beach with a new spin - the unique and exciting chance to caddy for one of 12 celebrities. Golf fans can bid on the opportunity to caddy during the 3M Celebrity Challenge and as always, all proceeds raised will go to charity. The caddy opportunities will be for well-known celebrities and could include names such as last year's participants Justin Timberlake, Ray Romano, Bill Murray, George Lopez, Kenny G, Michael Bolton, Chris O'Donnell, Huey Lewis, Chris Berman, Kevin James, Greg Kinnear and Andy Garcia.
The 3M Celebrity Challenge is on Wednesday, February 10th during the 2010 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am tournament week and will be played on the famous Pebble Beach Golf Links course.
"We are excited to launch this unique program that directly supports our charitable mission," stated Ollie Nutt, President & CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation. "This year marks not only AT&T's 25th anniversary as title sponsor, but it is 3M's 50th year as a tournament sponsor, so the timing is excellent."
Russ Holden, Caddy For A Cure founder and veteran PGA TOUR
caddy added, "It is such an honor to be coming to this event with these caddy
opportunities. To launch our celebrity program at Pebble Beach during the 3M
Celebrity Challenge is a perfect fit given the charitable history and heart of
the event. We think it's an especially exciting opportunity to be inside the
ropes at a venue like Pebble Beach which is not only so deep in tournament
history, but is the host site for the 2010 U.S. Open. The winning caddies will
be among the world's best PGA TOUR players who will very likely be here during
the week, preparing early for the Open."
He concluded, "We always look forward to providing our caddy
participants with experiences they will never forget, and the 3M Celebrity
Challenge will be just that. It's a great way for fans to make a difference in
the lives of many people who really need it through the great game of golf."

FOCUS ON FANCONI
This month's feature on Fanconi is a stark reminder of why we exist. While many of the more commonly known (and bigger funded) diseases claim lives daily, we recently received the devastating news about the loss of two of our formerly featured Fanconi patients. Although we believe and are comforted by their famlies' beliefs that these two precious children are at peace in heaven, no longer needing to battle this dreadful disease, it still hits us hard in the heart and compels us to continue our mission.
Anthony Negrin, our first feature in "Focus on Fanconi," lost his battle at 19 years old after battling the bone marrow disorder for years. It was our distinct pleasure to befriend Anthony, to get to speak with him on a regular basis and to enjoy a part of his treasured life. One would have never known for an instant that he was enduring a life or death fight as his personality was one of perspective far beyond his tender age. He knew whose he was, and he knew who had control of his situation indeed.
Samantha McCarthy was a most heartwarming story in the history of Caddy For A Cure. This year's caddy at the AT&T National at Congressional was Dennis McGlone. Many of you may remember that Dennis's son lives in the neighborhood with the McCarthy's and told his father about the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the disease Samantha was dealing with.
Dennis "caddied for a cure" that day for Hunter Mahan, proudly wearing a picture of Samantha on his hat. It was incredible to see this passion of fighting something in full force with the great game of golf.
It has been almost unbearable to hear the news of these families whose loss is so great that we cannot fathom the pain. To read the stories from the parents' hands on their sites is something we do, but find it nearly impossible to read to the end.
Our mission is not complete. Our mission must continue. We must not stop "caddying for a cure" until these types of stories can be eliminated. There are more families, many more families, with situations that are the same and we need your help. Tell your friends, send this letter on to your golf friends, post it at your club. A small task can mean so much in the life of so many.
Our deepest sympathies and heartfelt sorrow go out to the Negrin and McCarthy families. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers daily.

U-Haul is not only a leader in the rental-sharing and storage business, it is a leader in social responsibility and in creating a sustainable future. This forward looking vision for a sustainable future greatly influences their day-to-day business decisions, but it is clearly seen in their decisions about how they can change lives to create a more sustainable future on an individual, human level.
For many years, U-Haul has been committed to charitable giving and to the promotion of human well-being. They continue to generously support many charitable organizations encompassing a range of needs. Fitting to the Naval military history of U-Haul's founder, Sam Shoen, U-Haul has a significant commitment to military focused charitable organizations, including to the Wounded Warrior Project.
The long-standing success and industry leadership of U-Haul is clearly not accidental or sheer luck. They are an organization that has found sustainable solutions for building and operating a business. They have engendered a corporate culture that clearly understands the correlation between today's human needs and tomorrow's future. It is an organization that we at Caddy For A Cure are honored to have had the privilege of experiencing their 'cultural heart' first-hand. We encourage you to use one of the thousands of U-Haul centers and dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada for all of your moving and storage needs.

CADDY FOR A CURE GOLF TOURNAMENT A SUCCESS
The 2009 Annual Caddy For A Cure Golf Tournament is now history and what
a day it was. Other than a few degrees too warm, it was a tremendous day of
golf, food, fun, and inspiration at TPC Eagle Trace. We would like to take this
opportunity to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for participating in the
way that you did!
Please allow us to share some PICS of this great day and just a few of
the highlights that we will remember for a long time to come.
Staff Sgt. Retired Dan Nevins ripping yet another great shot A perfect finish from Sgt. Dan
Doesn't get much better than Abe and Louies! Prime Rib Sandwiches were superb Ft. Lauderdale Police Pipe & Drum Corp were unreal and even added a few
new members...Christian Collins, Kayla Holden and the Walsh boys. What a
thrill! We served virgin Blue Martini's to Pastor Rod, the rest of us partook. Yes, the Corn Crusted Grouper over Mushroom Risotto was out of this
world. But so is the Blue Moon Fish Co. of Coral Springs. Thanks to Daniel
Cournoyer, Owner. Former Marlin and MLB superstar Jeff Conine joined the fun Who could turn down Bru's Wings? Without a doubt the best wings in the
world. Thanks to Bob Brudzinski, Former Miami Dolphin, who played and supplied
the wings.
Via Miami's Fisher Island Club, Albert and Becky Haug teamed with Elliot
Silverstein and Jeanni Nicastri for a most enjoyable day in the sun. Yes, we were serving Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes on the course. Thanks to
Chris Halks and his great staff from the Sawgrass Mills store! OK. So she HAS played before a little bit...LPGA soon to be superstar
Nicky Hage played "Beat the Pro" and had a blast. Here she beat Rich
Levy like a drum! How good is that Nuverus Euphoria juice? Terrific! Thanks to Nuverus and
AHCS's Dave Bowen who provided the treat for us all. It will change your
life... Peter "The Trick Shot Master" Johncke and his wife Lotta
entertained us all with a show that was amazing and then some. The Net winning team shot 49. Please meet Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus,
and Ben Hogan posing as Stuart Lestch, Bob Bailey and Steve Roth. Great job
guys!
While we had one of the best
days that a golf course can provide, no one lost sight of the reason why we
exist. Seeing Fanconi anemia patient Christian Collins, now 16 years old, and
how that disease has impacted his life, along with Sgt. Dan Nevins from the
Wounded Warrior Project, made the golf all seem insignificant.
How honored we were to have you participate with us this year. Whether
as a player, a sponsor, or a prayerful warrior for the event and the cause, we
appreciate you. It takes an army of people and assistance to pull off a day like
this, and we were indeed blessed to have had many with big hearts and strong backs.
Many thanks to the Caddy For A Cure Board - Peter Weitz, Gene Morgia, Jeff
Walsh, Rich Levy, Jen Weitz, Joe Faeh, Kevin Pallone, Mark Viner, Randy
Goldberg, Bob Burke, Steve Weitz, Scott Sanders, Richard Oates, Michael Cohen
and Steven Haug. Without these people, our event would not have been successful.
Special volunteers who gave of their time and who deserve our thanks are Bob and
Geri Wegner, Mary Jane Lampe, Don Steward and Scott Shurpin. How cool to have friends with such
big hearts!
A very special thanks to Jim Singerling of the Club Managers Association of
America. Their title sponsorship of our event is indeed greatly appreciated and
we are humbled and honored to have this prestigious group recognize our cause
with their support.
Also, thanks again to the TPC at Eagle Trace. They did a terrific
job for all the players and provided an exquisite facility for us to have this
event. PGA Professionals Bob Holzman and Bryan Stone, as well as Food & Beverage Director, Anita Chang, could not have been more inviting, cordial, or service oriented. We are excited to announce that we will be returning to Eagle Trace in
2010 on November 8th, and we look forward to seeing you there next year.

ERNIE ELS AND BRIAN GAY ON TAP FOR 2010 VERIZON HERITAGE
This may be one of the best holiday gifts that you could give that golfer in your life this Christmas. A chance to spend an entire day on the golf course, during an official event, "caddying for a cure." The list will get longer, but we will certainly do everything we can to accommodate your personal or business needs with players and venues, provided their schedules work. Call us or write us and let us know how we can custom tailor your greatest gift ever, all for charity!

When I started the "Focus on Fanconi" feature within the newsletter a few years ago, I thought it would be really cool to take a family and write about their situation to spread the word as to how this disease works. I never knew the impact that it would have on my life.
Without a doubt, the most difficult thing that I have to do within the management of the charity is to contact the families and hear about their plight. With three very healthy children, I often end the conversations broken down in tears thinking about what these families must endure on a day to day basis.
In every endeavor one inevitably comes to days and times where the head scratching begins and you wonder if you are doing the right thing. While they rarely come anymore, I would be lying if I said I have never wondered if caddying for a day for one of the best players would be successful. Hearing the occasional comment which I think is quite arrogant like "I TAKE a caddy, I would never be one..." is one that makes the hair on my neck stand up. They just don't get it.
Sure, you will have the time of your life with one of the greatest players in the world. See the action, see the shots, get to know them, enjoy golf at its finest. But that is not what this is all about, the fun is a by product.
The whole idea is to help in a most unique way. A way that involves the world's greatest game and a way that helps immeasurably change the lives of so many. To "Caddy For A Cure" is to take that simple servant step to make a difference in someone else's life.
Forward this mail. Send it on. Tell your friends. Families like the McCarthy's and the Negrin's depend on you to do so.
Sincerely,
Russ Holden PGA Caddy For A Cure Founder
