PLAYOFFS PROVE TO BE MOST EXCITING FOR CADDY FOR A CURE CADDIES
As the season winds down on the PGA TOUR, the Fed Ex Playoffs began with a bang for Caddy For A Cure. In what seemed to be a virtual "who's who" of golf lined up at The Barclays and The Deutsche Bank Championship, caddies lined up to carry for the world's best players. Seen here is Andy Lee, who became a huge fan of one of golf hottest properties and great guys, Ian Poulter.
The New York City backdrop was absolutely gorgeous with our other participants in Kenny Perry with caddie Dr. Loren Ledford, and Padraig Harrington with caddie Tom Guinan.
Tom Guinan was the lucky recipient of a gift from an appreciative client, Harwood Lloyd Law. Not only is one of the partners a previous caddy with Caddy For A Cure, but they most certainly "get it" when it comes to how they will spend their monies on customers. Tom experienced the day of a lifetime with a three time major champion, at a fraction of the cost of Yankees tickets!
Padraig is indeed a great friend to many charities around the world and his delightful personality is a joy to be with. Tom being Irish, had the day of his life with the Irish hero and joked about many topics this day. If you look very closely, joke of the day was about Padraig's BALL RETRIEVER in his bag. Yes, you read that correctly, a ball retriever in the Open Champions bag. Tom joked what was worse, "it needed a new grip."
Spending the day with the CURRENT OPEN CHAMPION has it's advantages to say the least, and Levi Parmeter found this out at TPC Norton. Stewart Cink and his PGA TOUR Caddie Frank Williams treated Levi to a day he will never forget. Being paired with ESPN's Chris Berman made it all the more memorable. Check out Levi's smiling face as Stewart recants his day here.
Sean Murphy must have the best girlfriend in the world as he was the recipient of a day on TOUR with Anthony Kim. He quickly learned why young Anthony is really going to be one of the best superstars in the sport for a long time with a game that left him speechless. Anthony and his long time caddie Eric Larson treated Sean to a gift he will never forget.
With all of the great times had during the Playoffs thus far, Kevin Comeau of Boston may have had the best time of them all with Columbian superstar Camilo Villegas. Camilo had the group of the day with four young juniors in his unique group and really epitmozed the heart and soul of golf. Here is a young talented player, with millions of dollars at stake, and he took time to give back to the game that has been his life. He gave to charity, with all that Caddy For A Cure does, as well as to Junior Golf, the lifeblood of the game.

FOCUS ON FANCONI
This month's feature on Fanconi is a most unique one and truly inspirational. The Flynn family, in Maine, is comprised of (5) children, (3) of whom have Fanconi Anemia.
James is the oldest and is 12 and he doesn't have
FA. Jordan is the next oldest at 11 and she has FA then Jacob who
is 6 who doesn't have FA and then the twins Julia and Jorja who are 5 and have
FA.
Jordan was diagnosed with FA in April of 2003 because her
pediatrician was persistent that there was something wrong. He diagnosed
her with short stature and failure to thrive then referred them to the local
hematologist who tested Jordan for a bunch of different things until he decided
to test her for FA.
Right now Jordan is
in her second month of trying an Androgen called Danazol to help boost up her
platelets and hemoglobin.
As for the twins, Julia is doing great, her counts are
actually mostly normal and shows no sign of the disease at all. Jorja's
counts on the other hand have started to decline dramatically this year and will
most likely need close monitoring like Jordan. Jorja doesn't show any
other signs of FA, actually all 3 don't have any anomalies that come with FA so
looking at them you would never know they were sick.
For Jordan the near future holds bi-weekly blood draws, bone
marrow biopsies every three months and unfortunately most likely bone marrow
transplant right around the corner. For the twins as of right now they have yearly bone marrow
biopsies..all three are actually scheduled for one in October and they get their
blood counts done twice a year. For the time being they are just
"normal" little girls enjoying kindergarten and hanging out with their
friends and don't quite know that they are sick. Most of us cannot fathom what it would be like to parent and live with one child who has special needs or a lethal disease like Fanconi anemia, but to parent THREE in one family is simply beyond our imagination. Please, pray for this family, this Mom, and these children and keep them close to your hearts, they certainly would appreciate it!

The Golf Charity
Network,
www.golfcharity.net, was started in the summer of 2009 to help Event
Organizers reach out to their communities and find players, sponsors, and
volunteers for their charities. We understand that these unsung heroes
are short on both time and funding which is why our site is free and easy to
use. Simply click on the "Submit a Charity Event" button on the
site and fill in the blanks, we do the rest! We are working diligently to
help organizers get the most for their charities which is why we've also
included some free or low cost methods for marketing that organizers can use to
raise awareness. We are constantly promoting the site and the events we
list on social networks and around the web on a daily basis. We are just
trying to give a little bit back to a sport that has given us so much.

ERNIE ELS COMMITS TO CADDY FOR A CURE FOR 2010 VERIZON HERITAGE
When we saw Ernie in Boston at the Deutsche Bank Championship, he could not have been more accommodating in trying to find a week that would work well for him next season and his much awaited return to Caddy For A Cure. We went through the schedule and Hilton Head seemed the perfect place to host a day with one of the all time greats in golf. With his now publicized fight to cure Autism, this one should easily be one of the biggest days in the history of Caddy For A Cure!

Are you tired of bogeys? I know I am. I am not so bothered by them on the course any more as I play not nearly as much as I would like to and enjoy watching others have a good time on the golf course caddying with Caddy For A Cure. I am tired of lifes bogeys.
The kind of "bogeys" that include Fanconi Anemia, injuries that afflict the Wounded Warriors, Autism, ALS, and many other devastating problems.
When Dan Hoffman called me and said he wanted to help with a bracelet, I was intrigued by his heart to help and some of the other great causes they he had benefitted thus far. Animal Cruelty, Diabetes, Breast Cancer, World Hunger, and many more. So why couldn't we do something for golfers that would help in such a big way? He went to work and presented this really cool way of saying "stop" to all the problems that Caddy For A Cure benefits.
For $10 each, half goes to charity. What an extremely cool way for you to say how tired you are of the bogeys in life, and you did something about it. They are made from recycled tires, and are "green" made.
You really have to sit back and tip your hat to a company like this and support them. They "get it" in their endeavors of business, and the business of life.
Sincerely,
Russ Holden PGA Caddy For A Cure Founder
