Christian Collins Becomes Official CFAC Spokesperson for Fanconi Anemia

Caddy for a Cure is extremely proud to announce that Christian Collins is the new FA Spokesperson for CFAC. Christian, an FA patient, is 14 years old and is largely the  reason behind the  CFAC program.

As the FA Spokesperson, Christian will be used extensively on all CFAC brochures and media in years to come. His awareness of Fanconi anemia is acute as he has been afflicted with the disease since birth and has endured many of the complications associated with the disease, including having what has been a successful bone marrow transplant several years ago in Berlin, Germany.

Christian lives with his family in Macon, Georgia and was extremely excited to  accept this position with the company. He knows he has FA and wants nothing more than for the program to flourish so it can help other families and children avoid having to go through what he has gone through.

We are hoping to get Christian to the upcoming World Golf Championships in Akron to meet the participants of CFAC as well as many of the players who have participated.

"I want to meet Tiger and shake his hand" was Christian's response when we invited him to Akron. We are going to do everything we can to make this happen if he gets to the famed Firestone Country Club in a few weeks time.

Thank you Christian for being a part of Caddy for a Cure!

FRED KEEL CADDIES FOR WORLD #4 RANKED ADAM SCOTT

Fred Keel had the day of his golf life this week at the Congressional CC in Bethesda, Maryland.

Carrying the bag for Adam Scott was the chance of a lifetime and then some. Not only did Fred get to see one of the very best golfers in the world and spend an intimate day on one of the best courses in the world, he got the added bonus of spending the day with 2006 United States Open Champion Geoff Oglivy, who played with Adam. As you can see by the picture, standing up close and personal next to a US Open Champion while watching a booming 300+ yard drive has its advantages.

Fred did a great job on the bag and no one would have known that he was not a regular Tour caddy. He did have one of the greatest caddies of all time, Tony Navarro, to help him all the way around, but Fred did a super job on his own.

Also in the group that day was Aussie Andrew Buckle, another upcoming superstar from down under. Fred's Aussie definitely got some tweaking as he listened the entire round to "mate talk."

A special Caddy for a Cure note is CONGRATULATIONS TO CHAMPION KJ CHOI.  His "bag" is up for sale right now for the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational in Akron along with Jim Furyk, Padraig Harrington, Justin Rose, and Davis Love III.

CADDY FOR A CURE CHARITY SPOTLIGHT:
ADAM SCOTT  FOUNDATION

Caddy for a Cure is proud to have the Adam Scott Foundation as a recipient of Adam's generous giving of his time to help Caddy for a Cure at the inaugural AT & T National held last week in Bethesda, Maryland.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to establish the Adam Scott Foundation and of creating a long term, sustainable organization that will offer opportunity to youth in our community."

"For a number of years now I have envisaged creating a structure that will allow me to assist various youth groups that need help. As I have travelled the world playing Professional Golf and experiencing many favourable situations, it has also become apparent to me just how many people are suffering, disadvantaged and lacking opportunity. I was fortunate to be offered the opportunity of following my chosen path, but not everyone has that fortune. I believe that the giving of an opportunity may be one of the greatest gifts of all - be that an opportunity for a single experience to a sick child, to a chance to follow a dream that may otherwise be unattainable."

"The board of the Adam Scott Foundation is committed to its success and I look forward to our combined enthusiasm making a real contribution to youth in our communities. I urge you to assist us. Together we can enjoy some great times and experiences and make a real and tangible difference to those that need our support."

Bee-Alive is never freeze dried. They use fresh Royal Jelly in all of their products, in its most natural, powerful form, right from the bee-hive. And they do things to make sure it stays effective - they package their Royal Jelly in glass...they put a date on each container so they're sure it's fresh....and they keep it in a temperature controlled warehouse.

JORDAN CHANDLER CADDIES FOR NICLAS FASTH, FASTH WINS IN GERMANY
Jordan Chandler recently caddied for Niclas Fasth in Atlanta and has been the case many times this year, Fasth went on to win a few weeks later in Germany. Fasth joined Masters Champion Zach Johnson in the winners circle of CFAC participants along with KJ Choi, and Aaron Baddeley.

Niclas was so cool to Jordan and his partner Ben Baggett at Sugarloaf. He even let Jordan, a great player in his own right, have a couple of swings at the famed 18th hole. His second attempt with a four wood not only made it over the water from 255 yards, it sailed the green into the back bleachers.

Good things really do happen to those who have good intentions for others.

As you may or may not know, I am one proud Dad with a son who was drafted last year by the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball.

As proud as I am of my son and his talent that he has honed to the highest degrees, I am most proud of who he has become and what he is doing with his newly found fame and good fortune.

One of the first things that Brandon did soon after he signed his contract with the Pirates was spend an entire day down at the Miami Children's Hospital. He spent the afternoon signing baseball after baseball which he purchased himself and made these kid's day. I was overcome with emotion as I sat back and watched him give his card away to these kids who were in awe of a professional baseball player in their midst. While they did not know that he has a long road ahead of him to the "Show," they knew he was someone who was in baseball and most importantly, taking their mind off whatever it was that afflicted them.

Yes, you will hear me brag all the time how my son is topping out at 94 MPH and you will see all the stories of his activity, but I am most proud that my son "gets it." He understands what life is all about and that is giving. To be at this tender age of 19 and to understand what an impact this would have on many children FAR less fortunate than himself, tells me that I have been successful as a father. He personified what Caddy for a Cure is all about with his time, his care, and his sincerity in wanting to help. Each and every participant in Caddy for a Cure is like a treasure to us, but more important is their sacrifice of financial and time resources that these winners give, like Brandon did,  to help families.

Well done my son, well done.

        Sincerely

        Russ Holden
