Tip #1 - 10 Last Minute Travel Gifts Anyone Would Love To Receive

What to get the person who seems to have everything??? Well travel stuff of course - everyone scoots away a few times a year whether it's for a weekend road trip or a grand adventure. They'll be anxious to start planning a trip with some of these new travel accessories!

From Magellan's.com
#1 1000 Places To See Before You Die - Wall Calendar - $12.95
New destinations cheerfully presented all year long
#2 Bright Quilted Case - holds 2 pairs of eyeglasses - $12.95
Everyone needs at least two pairs of glasses while traveling - this case will protect both and keep them within reach.
#3 Leather iPod Case - $14.85
We all LOVE traveling with our iPods - here's a swanky little case to protect it.
#4 Luggage Scale - $9.95
The airlines are charging a veritable fortune for overweight baggage these days. Stop guessing how much your packed bag weights by using this handy little hook scale.
#5 QuikPod - $29.85
This is really ingenious - a telescoping wand to attach your camera to. You'll never need to trouble another person to take your picture again- just hold it out in front of you with the self-timer set. It's also great for holding high above your head to shoot through a crowd.

Tip #2 - A Travel Website To Save You Time and Trouble At The Airport

Every now and then I come across a website that has WOW power - FlightStats.com falls into that category. It just keeps getting better and better. Use these travel tools every time you're headed to an airport.

#1 - A Flight Delay Button for your Google navigation bar.
This button has a drop down list of current airport delays in the United States. Click on it a few hours before heading to the airport.

#2 - Airport Security Line Wait Times.
It's always a mystery trying to figure out how long you'll be in the TSA lines. This feature gives you a glimpse of security line wait times at each gate in the airport you're headed to. You may find some gates in the same terminal have far shorter wait lines!

Tip #3 - The Cheapest Weeks To
Vacation This Winter
Grace Bay Club
The cheapest prices for winter travel to the Caribbean fall on weeks that are traditionally the coldest of the winter. Wow, almost a no-brainer that those are the weeks you should plan your beach escape, right! Here's the catch - we're all so stressed out by the holidays, we don't focus on our winter vacation until it's too late. Without a doubt, the least expensive travel weeks to the Caribbean are the first three weeks of January - right after New Year's is over.

You can often save HALF of the cost of vacationing in during the holiday weeks, and a third of costs in February or March. It's not unheard of to find all inclusive rates in the Dominican Republic, and the Mayan Riviera for $1,000 per person for FLIGHTS, ALL MEALS and ALL DRINKS. You almost can't afford to stay home at those rates!

So put holiday shopping out of your mind for a few minutes and focus in on getting out of town to soak up some Caribbean sun and work on your tan for the New Year.

Tip #4 - Keep Your Toddler Safe (and comfortable) While Flying
Child Airline Seat Belt

Ever see a Mom and Dad hauling a huge load of paraphernalia for their toddler through the airport security line? Let's see - a bulky child seat, a diaper bag, toys, a blanky - not to mention the squirmy little tyke. I'll bet that's not a smile you're imagining on their faces!!!

Here's a company with a terrific, easy solution for securing your child comfortably in an airplane seat (allowing you to leave the cumbersome child seat at home!) C.A.R.E.S stands for a Child Aviation Restraint System - or in friendlier terms a seat belt assembly just the right size for a 1-4 year old weighing from 22-44 pounds.

You can see all the details for yourself at Kids Fly Safe.com

And if you'd like more information about flying with children, check out the FAA's website for more advice.
