Facebook Live: "Tweetup" to help Jesus Center and the hungry is Wednesday evening
FacebookThe Food Bank "Tweetup" at Cash & Carry is upon us and Facebook Live - Chico is asking you to stop by and help feed the hungry. And if you can't make it at the scheduled time, you can still help!

The time for the event will be 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25 and the premise is simple. Just show up, go inside and purchase as many # 10 (one gallon) cans as you would like to donate. Then take the can outside to the Jesus Center truck and donate it. It's that easy to help needy people in our community! Cash and Carry is located in the shopping plaza at Mangrove Avenue and Palmetto, the address is 930 Mangrove Ave.

If you prefer to go earlier in the day, you can purchase items and the Cash & Carry staff will set them aside to be donated.

Facebook Live - Chico encourages all to spread the word via email or Facebook or Twitter or any other way possible. We've had a major boost in interest, with 348 members as of now. If you're not on the list, join in!

Meetings are open to the public, but don't feel that meetings are the only ways to contribute. Just by keeping up with the discussion posts and submitting your help and ideas on the Facebook page, you're helping the effort.

You can visit the page and join the group by clicking here. You must have a Facebook account to join.

NFIB is bringing governor's small business advocate to the Sierra Nevada brewery
Please join the National Federation of Independent Businesses and Northern California-area members for an evening reception featuring Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Small Business Advocate, Marty Keller.

The event is complimentary but registration is still required, and it will be on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Sierra Nevada Brewery.

Tell the governor's "right-hand man" for small business what's on your mind -- how government can help you keep your doors open and people employed in this economy! Come learn -- and share your ideas -- about important issues affecting small businesses in California, including:

Burdensome regulations
Costly litigation
Rising energy costs
Accessing government resources and information

You will also meet area member business owners and advocates, and NFIB/California Executive Director John Kabateck. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow small business owners who share your concerns, and learn more about the benefits of being a part of NFIB.

For more information on NFIB, and to RSVP, click here.
