CEPCO fields dozens of resumes from tech workers and students at job fair
|
CEPCO continues to show its drive to improve the area's tech company climate and Friday's gathering in the Sequoia Room at the Butte County One-Stop Employment Center allowed some people looking for work in the tech field to come meet local businesses and CEPCO.
Landacorp and Improvement Direct attended, as did Robert Strazzarino of College Scheduler, LLC.
Many attendees have recently finished an ASP.net course at Butte College, the first go-around for the course. Feedback will be considered to make it even better in the future.
If you are interested in previewing the resumes we collected, contact Leland at lee@wemanage.org.

Building at 6th & Main has a new name: The Morgan Stanley Building
|
The bottom floor of 555 Main St. will have a new tenant, and that company will also have the building named after it.
It was announced Friday that Morgan Stanley, the global financial giant, agreed to a lease and will move its offices to the building that bears its name in an exclusive naming right.
"This shows companies are still moving forward," said The Group's Mike
Donnelly, who represented the landlord in the lease negotiations. "Despite these tough economic times, this is
a positive sign that stalwart companies like Morgan Stanley are confident about
the future."
The lease
was also handled by Property Manager John Miller of RSC
Associates and Attorney Timothy Ferris of Leverenz & Ferris Law Firm. Sally Shelton of the Group Real Estate
represented Morgan Stanley.

CEPCO Job Creation Committee and City Technology Group have new blogs |
In order to keep committee members abreast of the activity of the Job Creation Committee and Technology Group, we have developed a blog that will communicate the agendas and action notes from meetings. There is also an opportunity for members to comment on the topics of the agenda. Bob Linscheid (left) is the verbal artist of both blogs but he's always looking to hear from people in the community who are interested in new ideas.
Please feel free to provide input on the blogs via comment or by sending emails to Bob at bob@wemanage.org.

CEPCO collected resumes and has a large stack in the office from the three job fairs in recent months. If you would like to review some of the resumes we collected, contact Leland by clicking here.
