February 2011

Greetings!

For February, PHD shines the spotlight on our Series RA Rotary Actuators. A high torque device with many available options for a variety of machine designs.

We also feature, this month, our IP67 Servo Electric Slide. This food industry targeted product has lots of features for chemical wash-down environments.

Also for January, a closer look at some great animations for Series SxL / SxH Slides that highlight features that could be a major benefit for you!

Series RA Rotary Actuators....             Zero Backlash!

Need a rotary motion on your current machine design project? PHD's Series RA Rotary Actuators might be just what you've been searching for. Available in five sizes with six standard rotations, these actuators can deliver torques ranging up to 150 in-lb. at 100 PSI [17 Nm at 7 bar]. Built-in standard angle adjustments make adjusting end of rotation positions a snap. And mounting patterns on three sides give the greatest flexibility in design and unit mounting.
 PHD Series RA Rotary Actuators

All Series RA Rotary Actuators feature zero backlash at ends of rotation providing precise rotary position. Constructed from hard-coated aluminum bodies with anodized aluminum end caps, these rugged actuators feature some of the highest energy capacities of any actuator in their class. A one-piece alloy steel pinion shaft is available with a standard keyway or as a hubbed pinion for maximum tooling mounting flexibility. Additional options can include built-in flow controls, cushions, shock absorbers, and magnets for PHD reed or solid state switches.

If your applications call for a variety of sizes with various rotations and option requirement, take a look at PHD's web site and our Series RA Rotary Actuators.

Food Handling?        Wash-Down?        PHD Cleans Up!

Do your responsibilities include maintaining equipment in Food Handling applications where chemical wash-down is required? Is the ingress of cleaning agents taking a toll on the actuators you're using today? PHD recently released an ingress protected servo electric slide for these harsh environments. The IP67 rating covers the entire actuator.
IP67 Servo Electric Slide

This slide is designed for high-speed actuation wish a typical payload capacity of 20 lb. [9 kg]. It's constructed of stainless steel housings, sealed to protect an AC servo motor drive system. The slide's round guide shafts are stainless steel with hard chrome plating for both wear and chemical resistance. The polymer bearings and polyurethane drive belt are wash-down chemical resistant as well.

Resolver and motor connectors are also wash-down resistant and the unit is supplied with wash-down compliant cordsets. The unit features a maximum travel of 600 mm and a maximum speed of 900 mm/sec.

PHD has other travel lengths available and customizing for individual requirements is our specialty! Visit our site to see some of our Unlimited Unique Solutions for Food Handling applications and harsh wash-down environments.
Series SxL / SxH Slide Animations....

Among PHD's many animations and videos are several that feature our Series SxL and SxH Slides capabilities. A compact cantilever design available in nine sizes to accommodate a wide range of applications.
