March 2010

Greetings!

Our Series SIP Slides are highlighted this month. This versatile line of compact precision slides has a lot to offer to anyone moving small parts or components in just about any application.

For March we examine a new component of our ETools collection. The automatic creation of a Personal Specification Sheet directly from your CAD Download greatly enhances your machine documentation. This unique tool can help you present your design solutions to your less technical savvy associates.

We also feature some new animations in our Learn.PHDin Web Site. Our Series GRL Grippers get the spotlight this month.

To your continued success!

Series SIP Slides....   Small Package, Big Precision!

Moving Small Parts with Accuracy!

PHD's Series SIP Slides incorporate rail bearing technology for high accuracy and precision. Available in three bore sizes (12, 16, and 20mm) and three travel lengths for each size, these cost competitive actuators can handle a wide range of small loads with considerable force.

  PHD SIP Slides

Weighing in at less than 1/3 of a pound for the smallest to just under 1 and 1/2 pounds for the largest, these slides feature internal shock pads as standard to absorb substantial amounts of energy at the ends of travel.

The ability to mount your tooling on top or on the end of the tool plate contributes greatly to application flexibility.

Series SIP Slides also provide a full 5mm of travel adjustment at each end of travel. Integrated switch slots complete the picture of one of our most precise small package, high capacity slide series.

Give the Series SIP Slide a look for your next small parts assembly application!
ETools Enhancements
CAD Enhancement Improves Documentation!

PHD has recently improved our Online CAD with the addition of a Personal Product Spec Sheet to each and every CAD File download. This new feature creates a .PDF document which prominently shows, product ordering data, distributor contact and delivery information as well as an interactive 3D image of the specified actuator.

PHD Personal Product Spec SheetUsers can click on the image to rotate, pan, or zoom on a particular feature.

This documentation can greatly assist communication between designers and those making the final decisions toward material acquisition. It also serves as a fantastic piece of electronic documentation for maintenance purposes. Being a .PDF file by nature gives it extreme portability.

Give it a try today by downloading a PHD Online CAD file and check out the new Personal Product Spec Sheet that accompanies it!
New Simulations for March
Series GRL Gripper animations just released!

Our latest addition of new simulations spotlights the features of our Series GRL Grippers.

GRL Gripper Turn Over

These interactive simulations of PHD Series GRL Grippers adeptly explain such characteristics as:

  • Close Center Locating in Tight Applications
  • Synchronous Vs. Non-Synchronous Jaw Movement
  • Manifold Mount and Port Advantages
  • Balanced Jaw Force - Open or Closed
