October 2009
Greetings!

Our featured product this month is the Series STP pneumatic slide. The robust rail bearing of these units allows high carriage/tool plate speeds and high cycle rates without the need for shock absorbers.

Our Application Highlight for October focuses on PHD's solutions for the Glass Container Industry.

Last, but not least, we cover a slew of new multimedia additions to our learn site. We hope you enjoy this Spotlight on PHD.

To your success!

Precise, Compact Rail Bearing Slides
Series STP pneumatic Slide

STP Slides were designed to provide smooth, precise movement with high accuracy. With dual piston bores, the Series STP Slides provide high power in minimum space with twice the thrust of a single bore cylinder.

Series STP SlidesStandard internal and external shock pads eliminate metal-to-metal contact reducing noise and end-of-travel impact forces. Optional travel adjustment available for precise slide positioning.

Units are available in five sizes to fit a wide range of applications. Series STP Slides provide precision and modularity at a very low cost. Check out our online product specifications for more detailed information.

STP Slides will stand up to your most demanding precision applications.
Application Highlight
PHD in the Glass Industry

PHD products are solving problems in a wide range of applications and industries.  One emerging industry for PHD is Glass.

PHD has been working with major glass container manufacturers developing a pneumatic "glass pusher" slide.  This unit is an upgrade to the OEM supplied actuator and provides long life and quick response for the high temperatures and harsh environment associated with glass container production. Testing has shown PHD units provide superior life and the ability to handle heat and contamination.

PHD is also providing solutions on Glass Bottle Manufacturingthe 'cold' end of the glass container process.  PHD Grippers are being issued to control the flow of containers on the many conveyors used in checking and packaging.  PHD Clamps and Slides are used to hold slip sheets in place in a palletizing application.

Knowing that PHD products can hold up in this difficult environment provides evidence that PHD can handle many of your difficult requirements.  To find out more about PHD's capabilities in harsh environments go to our Unique Solutions gallery.

Got a difficult problem you just can't solve? Chances are, we've seen a similar challenge before. Let us help!
